On the eve of the announcement of the sentence in the case of Stanislav Pozdnyakov, Viktor Zakharov talks about impressions of his first detention, which happened on April 1, 2012 at the White Square shares.

Tomorrow, March 14, at 14.00 in the Tver Court of Moscow, federal judge Stashin will announce the verdict Stas Pozdnyakov, accused of "applying violence against a representative of the authorities." The imagination of any normal person will immediately draw in his head the image of a violent thug, who attacked a modest, honest, small policeman who stupidly performed his heroic duty. And I would have imagined this situation if I had not been its witness from beginning to end.

A lot has already been written about massive detentions at the blocked entrance to Red Square, which took place on April 1, 2012. I was there too with my wife and her friend. We looked like, looked, played a stream, led a round dance, gave an interview to the German television channel, no extremism, everything is very fun and positive-Laughter Day after all. Then the massive “grabbing” of people and premises from to autosaki began. Autozaks drove up and drove away, like buses at a peak hour from the final stop. It so happened that I ended up in the same car with Stas.

It was generally a very interesting day for me, I made a lot of new and positive discoveries for myself. I met very correct people, such as: Nadia Mityushkina, Lena Bukvereva, Yura Emelyanov, Denis Yudin, Artem Aivazov, Stas Pozdnyakov. This is a wonderful acquisition. With all of them, I still maintain relations.

I was extremely surprised by the absolute incompetence, inorganization, helplessness, non -education of police officers, as well as their level of rudeness. It seems that in addition to the rough strength and status of “inviolability”, representatives of the authorities in the arsenal have nothing. You can imagine a picture when 8 people are trying to write elementary (as it seems to me) documents on detention and delivering 12 people to the police department and they can’t do anything? And I could not, but now I can. It seemed that the pen, as a tool of writing, they see for the first time. But all the detainees behaved very peacefully, immediately showed the documents, answered questions, that is, they helped as they could.

I could not imagine that having kept people in the police department for more than 3 hours (I have not yet taken into account all the time when we were rolled around the city and endlessly kept the ATS at the gate) without issuing a single protocol, the police would actively prevent the release of illegally held citizens, that is, the most rude way to violate the laws that they themselves are obliged to protect. Now I can.

I could not imagine the situation when a policeman who rudely grabbing Stas Pozdnyakov for a jacket, then beating him with his fist in the face, then he will accuse Stas of the so -called “violence against a representative of power”. And this is not a joke, not ten thousand fines and not 15 days of the insulator. This is up to 5 years in prison. Now I can.

Previously, I could not imagine a situation when all the police, as one, lie in their testimonies both during the investigation and in court. They talk about some mystical spot in the ear of the victim’s ear from the blow, which Pozdnyakov allegedly inflicted. They lie about the fact that we were kept in the police department for no more than 3 hours, and then all were released, having conducted a preventive conversation. Demonstrate false records in the detentions journal, where it is written that at about 20.00 we were all released, and I personally were there until 23.00 and, if not for the help of the human rights activist of Babushkin, I would sit there and sat. Now I can.

I could not imagine that the judge during the survey of witnesses would be more interested in their white ribbons and their participation in opposition activity than to impartially investigate the circumstances of the case. I could not imagine that the prosecutor would simply declare that all the police are telling the truth, because they say the same way, and all witnesses from the defense are lying, because they are interested and opposition to the same. Now I can.

I really hope for an acquittal against Stas Pozdnyakov (what I believe with difficulty, seeing the judge’s interest of the indictment), or at least a punishment that is not related to real deprivation of liberty.
