The entire crew of the Arctic Sunrise was detained for 48 hours. At three o'clock in the morning on September 24, the detainees were taken to various pre-trial detention centers in Murmansk and the region. The day before, five people received procedural documents about their detention as suspects in the case of violation of 227 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“piracy”). However, no official charges have been brought against the rest of the detainees. 9 members of the ship's crew are currently under interrogation in the investigative committee of the city of Murmansk, today lawyers were allowed to see them. At the same time, the Public Monitoring Commission of the city of Murmansk was not allowed to see the detainees in the pre-trial detention center. According to representatives of Greenpeace Russia, members of the POC were not allowed in under the pretext that the ship's crew "is in the status of detainees."
