A Ufa resident was fined five thousand rubles because of a post about the torture of a Bashkir activist

The Kalininsky District Court of Ufa fined Irek Agishev, chairman of the Bashkir Center for Assistance to National Education “Aktamyr”, five thousand rubles because of a post about the torture of another activist. This was reported by the publication “Idel.Realii” with reference to Agishev’s acquaintances.

The man was found guilty under the administrative article of inciting hatred or enmity (Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code). He was given a fine below the minimum limit - he filed a corresponding petition due to his admission of guilt and a small pension.

According to Idel.Realii, Agishev posted his post on VKontakte in April of this year. He wrote about the torture at the FSB of the Ufa activist Aitugan Sharipov, who opposed the war in Ukraine. In August, they came to Agishev’s home with a search, but, apparently, only an administrative case was opened against him.

“During the search, they gave him a real “mask show”; there were about fifteen security officials there. After this, the FSB forced him to apologize on camera. He was forced to do this - and at the trial he was forced to admit his guilt. He did not take a lawyer and, obviously, will not appeal the court’s decision,” Agishev’s acquaintances told the publication.

• On the day the “special operation” began in Ukraine, Bashkir activist Aitugan Sharipov went to an anti-war picket, and on March 2, security forces conducted a search in his apartment - his mother reported that the investigative actions were carried out under the article on calls for extremism (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code) , however, this information has not been confirmed. After the search, Sharipov was taken for questioning to the FSB; the next day the court arrested him for 10 days under the article of petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code). In court, Sharipov spoke about torture during the search.
• A few weeks later, Sharipov was fined 20 thousand rubles under the administrative article of inciting hatred or hostility due to messages critical of the war in Ukraine.
