In the Likino-Dulevsky district near Moscow, police officers detained Valery Koval and Yevgeny Petukhov, who were protesting against deforestation for the construction of a waste processing plant. This is reported by MBKh Media with reference to a resident of the village of Ilyinsky churchyard Ilya Tsarev.
The detainees were taken to the Kurovskoye police station.
According to Tsarev, in the morning workers arrived in the area who were going to cut down the square. They did not have permits, so local residents came out to the workers. Three police buses arrived with the workers.
“Initially, they said that they came to protect law and order. In fact, they contributed,” Tsarev told the publication. According to him, the police threatened the protesters with criminal cases if they did not stop speaking out against the plant.
“Police officers began to use physical force to eliminate us. We had to step aside. Under the threat of physical impact and administrative penalties, ”the man added.
