A member of the Progress Party was fined in Izhevsk for criticizing a neo-Nazi forum

On June 23, the Industrial District Court of Izhevsk found Timofey Klabukov, a member of the Party of Progress, guilty of promoting or publicly displaying prohibited symbols (under the first part of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for publishing a post about a neo-Nazi forum and imposed a minimum fine of one thousand rubles on him. this The activist announced on his Facebook page, emphasizing that he intends to appeal the court's decision.

The activist notes that the trial in the “crazy” administrative case is only one of the “episodes of history”: according to him, in addition to being charged with an administrative offense, he faced “warnings about preventing extremism, with prosecutorial checks” that “find out what is grounds” to consider him connected with pro-Nazi organizations.

The reason for the persecution of the activist was his publication on the social network of photos from the marches of the parties that took part in the pro-Putin forum of the Rodina party, held in St. Petersburg at the end of March. The photograph was accompanied by a critical commentary.

Meanwhile, in April 2015, Roskomnadzor published the results of a legal and linguistic examination of legislation on extremism, according to which the demonstration of prohibited symbols without the purpose of propaganda is not a manifestation of extremism.
