In these two days (this time-June 5 and 6), the entertainment will be varied: it will be possible to play beach volleyball on the river bank, drink wine, participate in children's amusements, look at the work of an artist who promised to collect a kind of jazz-gang, admire the fireworks and just walking in the forest. This festive atmosphere festival in the open air “Estate. Dzhaz” was famous from the very beginning of its existence, and it will seem to remain here in any weather, including any financial weather.

As for the musical program itself, if some jazz pourier sort it out on the bones, there will not be so many groups to stand the test. Judge for yourself-at what other jazz event you will be able to listen to, for example, Evgenia Margulis from the Time Machine, an accident , Bubamara Brass Band orchestra, imitating the Balkan Gypsies from the Kusturitsa films, or the Venger Colleective pop team, which last year exhibited its attendant dance room on the qualifying tour "Eurovision"? This time, the Club “Workshop” refuels here, so the assortment will be typical for a chamber permanent vacation: Clezmer, Soviet retro, well, unobtrusive and clockwork jazz. There is a Kapriz site that has become a branch of the Mamakabo rainbow festival this year, which is similar to the main program of the Arkhangelsk genre diversity, and is perhaps the fact that there are very few jazz there. However, in the sunny keyboard player and singer Sergei Manukyan Jazz so much that there will be enough for two days in compensation for non -jazz performances.

And in general, the phrase “this is not jazz” over the long decades of the existence of this musical direction was pronounced so many times that it lost all meaning. Those who still want jazz in a more conservative sense, are waiting for the aristocrat, which the organizers call the most important. Here, however, there are also enough splashes beyond the scope, however, not always interesting. But to listen to how the orchestras, which were led by the recent Georgy Garanyan , will be accompanied by reading poetry, at least curious. Another experiment deserves attention: yesterday, students from Symfusion Orchestra, who were in obscurity, not only decisively cross the elements of academic music with almost avant -garde jazz, but also come into contact with one of the most famous and bright performers on drums from India - trillok Gurt , which at one time became the first Hindu that played on a shock. installation.

For obvious crisis reasons, the organizers of the festival are not able to bring as many foreign musicians as we would like. It seems, however, that you can look at the stars in another place, but the young urgent musicians, behind whom, possibly, the future of modern jazz, will not show in other places. Therefore, the author of these lines strongly recommends those readers who will want to go to Arkhangelskoye for jazz, and not just for rest and clean air, listen to the performance of the American pianist Eron Parksa . In his compositions, you can, if you wish, hear something like acoustic rock, minimalism, movie music (its last album is called the “Invisible Cinema”)-in general, the whole polyphence of modern life, and at the same time with a jazz improvisation.
