According to the press service of the FSIN, initially the requirements of convicts in IR No. 6 were the release of one of the prisoners from the penalty isolator and the weakening of the content regime. “When the prisoners realized that their requirements would not be fulfilled, they began to declare torture and extortion,” the press service says. “What is now presented by the media as a peaceful action of disobedience is a gross violation of the internal regulations. Such protests were planned in several colonies where preventive measures were held, shares were prevented.”

The action in the colony was planned in advance, noted at the meeting. On Thursday, it became known that the prisoners of the Kopeysk IK-6 promise to continue the protests. The corresponding statement of the prisoner was transferred through human rights defenders to the prosecutor's office of the Chelyabinsk region. The prisoners demand the dismissal of the head of the colony Denis Mechanin and his first deputy Evgeny Zyakhor, who still intimidate the convicts, and also put pressure on the investigation. Otherwise, the statement says, the prisoners intend to declare an unlimited hunger strike. In the evening on Thursday, information was received that the prisoners refused food. The investigation of the criminal case under paragraphs "A" and "B" and "B" of paragraph 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority), instituted on the fact of applications of the IR No. 6 on extortion of funds. On November 24, IR prisoners No. 6 began a protest. They captured the tower in the industrial zone, where they hung a poster "People, help." In addition, banners with reports were posted from the roofs of the buildings that 1,500 people participate in the action against torture and extortion. In the morning, several hundred relatives of the prisoners gathered behind the barrier colony. They demanded to remove riot police and blocked the road, turning the UAZ policeman. The police harshly stopped the action, many of its participants were beaten and detained. Police officers forbade photographing and shooting a video at the colony gate, selected equipment from journalists and human rights defenders. The authorities reported 38 people about the detention.

On November 26, the prisoners of the Kopeysk colony stopped the protest. On November 27, by order of the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Gennady Kornienko, members of the Public Supervisory Commission were launched into the colony. They were able to collect official complaints from the prisoners, which declared beatings and extortion. Employees of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia and members of the HRC were also met with convicts.
