Murder
The death of a hockey player Alexei Cherepanov became an absolute shock and the main national news. The details of his death - the absent "ambulance", who came another, but with unproned defibrilles - were terrible. But then the investigation began. And there was complete confidence that the result of such an investigation - as always - would become nothing. That death is recognized as inevitable, which occurred as a result of a combination of circumstances. What will be punished not the first and not the main, and those who will be punished will be punished with the inconspicuous. And until recently, the main responsible for the tragedy were people, by and large, the general and officers who allowed the formally soldier Cherepanov to play hockey. And not only to Alexei, but also to many other professional athletes who saw clubs and balls much more often than machines and shoulder straps.
But before the New Year, the investigation ended, and its result, confirmed the other day, was completely unexpected and sensational. And shocking. The initial wording simply struck: Cherepanov systematically took doping! And the last injection was made to him three hours before the fatal match! The reaction of the hockey community was obvious: now we are all in shit. Because when the talented player of his generation dies on the site, and the reason becomes doping, this is the verdict for everyone: the league that clearly seeking to compete with the NHL, teams and players playing in such a league. This is such a blot on reputation that has not been taken out for years.
But now we can say that there will still be no global shame. It will be just a shame. Shame, shame, grief. And prison terms. Otherwise, it is no longer possible. The investigation showed that Cherepanov was actually killed. Killed unintentional. But they killed him slowly and killed many. About those two ambulance brigades that buzzed in the Chekhov Sports Palace, a separate chapter on eight pages was written. These are eight pages about what has been done by doctors, it was not done at all. Eight pages of negligence and incompetence. And about the unrelated defibrillers, and the fact that even the fact of death did the doctors incorrectly! They, apparently, could still not save Alexei, because the case was hopeless. But they could not have saved a less severe patient, they would have been killed by someone who could live.
As for doping, it turned out how. Cherepanov took Cordiamine. This medicine is firmly included in the list of drugs prohibited in sports. But, like the overwhelming part of this list, the cordiamine has a dual purpose. In principle, this is a medicine from which no harm to an ordinary person. But sports have their own laws. However, Cherepanov took Cordiamine precisely as a medicine, and not as doping. Accepted the last year and a half.
And here you have to return three months ago. When they conducted the primary autopsy, the doctors were horrified. They argued that the heart of the deceased was much more than the prescribed and that it was the heart of a seriously ill person. The leaders of the Omsk Vanguard then threatened the court, because, in their opinion, Cherepanov could not have such obvious heart deviations. That, they say, they regularly examined him, everyone was under control. They referred to the mother of Alexei, who spoke of extremely trusting relationships with her son, who did not hide anything from her, especially a serious illness.
Now it is obvious that Omsk doctors and leaders lied. Or they are so incompetent that they could not diagnose a pronounced ailment. And to mom, the young man, of course, did not say everything. Parents generally do not know a lot about their children, even when they are completely sure of them. So, doctors knew about the disease and gave Cherepanov Cordiamine.
If you believe these aibolites that they have nothing to do with it, then the script will have to be fantastically suggested: Cherepanov was treated himself, secretly from the club and from his mother found some unknown doctors who diagnosed him with heart disease and gave him the drug. And three hours before the match, either this unknown specialist, or the hockey player himself introduced the last dose. It is simply impossible to believe in this, frankly. Here it must be emphasized that it was not the medicine that killed Alexei. He just could not play hockey. And he played. Surely, not even realizing the seriousness of his position.
The KHL issued its verdict, forbidden to work in hockey to ex-president of Avangard Konstantin Potapov (by the way, while the head of the association of the league employers), general manager Anatoly Bardin, the doctor of the club Sergey Belkin and the director of Chekhov’s “Vityaz” Mikhail Denisov . Now, investigators will understand which of them was the “customer” of the “murder”, who is “an accomplice”, who is a “performer”.
And one more. After the death of Cherepanov, the KHL urgently conducted an examination of the young players of the League. We checked a hundred hockey players. So the three found health problems incompatible with sports. And this is only among those hundred people. But in our league six hundred people play. Plus the Higher League, plus youth teams. A sore heart can be not only in the very young ones, but also for those who are much older and still played with a risk to life. But there were no new checks. And even those three who have found serious ailments are still in teams. Hockey bosses do not want to call their names and threaten that, they say, if measures are not taken, then we ourselves will take measures to teams that do not pay attention to warnings. But we are talking about the lives of the guys! What to wait? What are such measures if trouble can happen at any time? And the names must be called. There will be nothing offensive for the players here, and no medical secret has nothing to do with it. In the end, not a sexually transmitted disease is hidden, but a heart. If their names know everything, then it will be difficult to let the guys on the site. But the bosses are silent and are waiting for something. Waiting for a carriage with incompetent doctors and discharged defibrillers to come again?
