Deputy Head of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications Alexei Volin shocked the participants of the scientific and practical practical conference held at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. Journalism professors learned a lot of interesting things from him. For example, that “today’s journalists should be taught to listen to the guy who pays the money.” And also: “Journalism has no mission, journalism is a business.” And to continue: “Young journalists should know that they will write about what the owner, that is, the owner, tells them.” And in conclusion, a parting word: “If you don’t teach this, you are committing a crime.” And finally, about the attitude towards the audience: “I don’t care about your reaction.” One can only guess what exactly prompted a smart and experienced person to do such a striptease. However, we should thank him: he explained very clearly what kind of journalists the Russian authorities want to see. Namely: purely corrupt cynics. This, in fact, is the basis of Putin’s idea of ​​the journalistic profession: if you don’t write as the Kremlin tells you to, you write as the State Department tells you to. The teachers of the journalism departments should be given their due. They were not afraid to express their attitude towards Volin’s revelations.
