The head of the FSB department for the Komi Republic, Alexander Kalashnikov, accused the local branch of Memorial, the Komi Human Rights Commission Memorial, of extremism. And not only in extremism, but also in intentions to disrupt the presidential elections - with the help of demonstrations on February 4 and 24.
Kalashnikov, quoted by Kommersant, added that Memorial’s activities “are directed from abroad, often financed by foreign non-governmental foundations and are aimed at transforming the political system in Russia.”
Kalashnikov also spoke about other enemies of Russia - the organization "Voice", these, in his opinion, are also extremists, since they also act under the leadership of insidious foreign countries and are plotting to change the political system.
It is remarkable that “Golos” and “Memorial” were mentioned by a high-ranking FSB officer in the same breath as the nationalist organizations “Rubezh Severa” and the People’s Militia named after Minin and Pozharsky (its leader is Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov, who is now in custody). The newspaper “Red Banner” published in the republic writes about this.
It’s interesting, by the way, from what border are they funding “Rubezh Severa” and Kvachkov’s supporters. Do these people also have work records in the Capitol?
