The Moscow City Court, chaired by Judge Andrey Mokhov, dismissed the complaint about the initiation of a criminal case against Alexei and Oleg Navalny on charges of fraud and money laundering when transporting goods from the Yves Rocher company. Thus, the initiation of the case is recognized as legal. The investigation period has been extended until December 13, RIA Novosti reports . According to the internal audit, one hundred sheets from the file, due to the absence of which the previous meeting was postponed, "virtually were not lost" and were skipped due to a secretary's mistake, so that's okay. Alexei Navalny said at the meeting that, according to his information, Yves Rocher, allegedly affected by his actions with his brother, withdrew her statement from the authorities. The defense demanded to show the documents on the basis of which a criminal case was initiated. The court refused.
On October 16, Navalny is expected in the Kirov Regional Court, where they are to consider an appeal against the sentence handed down to him and Petr Ofitserov in the case of alleged fraud that caused damage to the Kirovles company. On July 18, the Leninsky Court of Kirov sentenced Navalny to five years in prison, and Pyotr Ofitserov, who was recognized as an accomplice, to four years. They were taken into custody in the courtroom, but the next day they were released on bail.
