On January 19, employees of the Investigative Committee detained the director of the Bureau for the Coordination of Organized Crime and other dangerous types of crimes on the territory of the CIS states, Lieutenant General of the Police Alexander Bokov. The general is accused of the fact that he and his two accomplices, namely the director of the International Development Fund for the Cossacks, Mikhail Kreimer and the director of Stroybaton LLC Sergey Stepanov, in 2005, convinced an unnamed entrepreneur that they would help him buy a control package of shares of a certain transport company. For this, the suspects asked for a fee of $ 46 million. The entrepreneur paid them an advance $ 4.5 million, but the attackers did not do anything, thereby deceiving the confidence of the merchant. It is assumed that the general and his accomplices used the indicated amount for the purchase of real estate in the suburbs, in Cyprus and the UK. On January 21, by the decision of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, Alexander Bokov was placed under arrest. It is possible that over time, the list of articles of the Criminal Code incriminated by Bokov will expand significantly. Interfax sources claim that the general is also suspected of extorting and raider seizures of commercial enterprises as part of an organized criminal group, “in the implementation of fraudulent schemes, as a result of which $ 10 million was stolen from the head of one of the major transport companies”.
