The seven -year sentence for former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko showed that Ukraine under Viktor Yanukovych finally went according to the script chosen by Russia ten years earlier. Tymoshenko found guilty of exceeding official powers when concluding a gas contract with Russia. The judge was not embarrassed that there was no signature of Tymoshenko under the agreement (it was between Gazprom and Naftogaz), he rejected the request for the interrogation of Russian Prime Minister Putin, with which she negotiated. When the authorities began to plant opponents in Russia, analysts said: Moscow is studying from Alexander Lukashenko. In our history, against ex-Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, they also started things for an allegedly incorrectly privatized cottage. Kasyanov did not sit down, but the cottage was taken away. Lost housing and Tymoshenko. But this is not limited to parallels. Yanukovych turned out to be a good student of Putin and, on the example of the “case of Yukos”, clarified that one’s enemy’s sentence could not be finished off. Having called the court’s decision “annoying case”, which would interfere with the European integration of Ukraine, he first seemed to listen to Russia, the EU and the USA, who condemned the ex-Prime Minister, and advocated the decriminalization of the article of the Criminal Code, according to which Tymoshenko was behind bars. However, the next day it became known that Tymoshenko became a defendant in a new business: back in the 1990s, she allegedly transferred to the state the duty of her company “Unified Energy Systems of Ukraine” to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the amount of $ 405.5 million. That is, even if the leader of the opposition will be released, her ability to fight for power will be greatly limited: a three-year ban will remain in force to take the state debt, and if Timoshenko will be inconspicuous. The second term is provided to her. So if the Eurasian dreams of Vladimir Putin remain dreams, our countries have already been equal in one - in the total destruction of independent justice.
