In the village of Oktyabrsky, Cherdaklinsky district, Ulyanovsk region, thirteen stray dogs were shot. As Novye Izvestia found out, this was done by local residents. The officials gave them pneumatic guns.
The local prosecutor's office has already taken up this case and established that the shooters did not have any license for veterinary activities, and the guns fired flying injection darts, which were filled with the drug "Adeline-super", which causes paralysis of the nervous and muscular systems of the body in animals, which leads to painful death. Senior assistant to the regional prosecutor Vasily Zima, in a conversation with a newspaper correspondent, noted that the hired local residents could well have killed a person. It is possible that a criminal case will be initiated under the article “Cruelty to Animals”.
Killed dogs were left lying on the streets. Officials justify their actions by saying that dogs bite children. The head of Oktyabrsky’s administration told the newspaper that he himself is for the humane treatment of animals, but there is no money in the budget for humanism, “and children are being bitten today.” But, among other things, uncollected animal corpses on the streets could easily lead to an epidemic in the village - such is the concern for children. Not to mention that shooting animals is not only cruel, but also, according to experts, useless, since it does not solve the problem of homeless animals.
