The military is preparing for a siege. In response to the threat of the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze to unilaterally announce the transfer of Russian bases to withdrawal mode, a command representative said: “This will complicate our activities, but will not disrupt it: there are reserves of food and other material resources at the bases.” Tbilisi’s actions cannot be met with approval, but we have to admit: the military was hostage to Moscow’s unconstructive position, which sabotaged the negotiations for 5 years.
