London-based Chechen separatist Akhmed Zakaev was arrested in absentia in Russia. This decision was made on October 19 by the Essentuki City Court. Zakayev has been put on the international wanted list in Russia for involvement in terrorist activities. Not long ago, Zakayev was arrested in Poland, where he came to the World Congress of the Chechen People, but was soon released, since his refugee status applies to all EU countries.
