Russia's Permanent Representative to NATO Dmitry Rogozin spoke at the Third World Political Forum in Yaroslavl. Opening the section “Global Security and Local Conflicts,” he, as reported by Kommersant, said that the destructive ideology of multiculturalism was brought to Europe by leftists, that “integration is only possible into a strong dominant culture, and not into tolerance and facelessness,” that “Russia is experiencing an unprecedented immigration onslaught”, that “our immigration is not justified economically and is extremely dangerous politically and socially”, that immigrants from the North Caucasus (it seems they were not immigrants until now) “defiantly violate the Russian cultural standard”, that “Russian the people are in the position of a discriminated majority.”
Rogozin advocated the equality of the peoples of Russia, which for him consists of justice for the Russian people (and injustice for others?), the rejection of the ideas of multiculturalism and tolerance, the elimination of “political and legal offshores” in the North Caucasus and, finally, the “renationalization of the Russian people, restoring in him the instinct of a statesman, a collector of Russia, restoring his historical memory and Great Russian culture.”
There have long been rumors that Rogozin will soon leave Brussels and return to Russian politics. The permanent representative also spoke to Kommersant about his return. He announced that a congress of the Congress of Russian Communities would take place on September 21, at which a decision would be made on how and with whom the organization would participate in the elections. At the same time, Rogozin promised to consult with President Dmitry Medvedev.
This is all, of course, wonderful, but Medvedev recently called on parties not to use national themes during the election campaign, and Rogozin is clearly returning to Moscow with these ideas. However, Medvedev calls for a lot of things.
