Back on January 27, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov denied information about the appointment of deputy, politician with a long history, Ramazan Abdulatipov as acting. the head of Dagestan, although Abdulatipov himself declared this as a settled matter. Now the Kremlin press service has confirmed the appointment. The head of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, was removed from his post and appointed nothing less than deputy head of the presidential administration.

Moreover, before Abdulatipov’s statement, Putin met with Magomedov, and the entourage of the head of Dagestan reported that Magomedov remained in power in the republic. Peskov, however, denied information about the meeting. Meanwhile, at the same time, sources in the administration unofficially reported that the decision to resign Magomedov had already been made.
