But really - what is the price of civil society?

What, in fact, the situation in the capital of the former Russian-Soviet empire is different from the situation in the capital of the former French Empire?

Both there and there, a surge of migrants, in a huge extent of Muslims. Both there and there migrants are greatly criminalized, controlled by very peculiar “communities”. Both there and there, the “indigenous white population” does not like them, to put it mildly. I dare to assume that the return love of the “brunettes” for the “blondes” is no less.

The difference is that in Russia there is not only nothing like Parisian events, but in the foreseeable future is not expected.

Why am I so confidently judging this? It is clear why. Paris is a city of freedom, "a holiday that is always with you." Moscow is a semician capital of a police state. Therefore, in Paris in 1968, students rebelled (to be honest, it is still not entirely clear why) - and in Moscow, when they are taken to the army, they are paid a mocking scholarship, etc., they are not even squealing. In the free European capitals, visiting anti -globalists from the heart hit the windows (Prague) - and in Moscow, when there was a summit of international organizations that they hated, they did not even stick their noses. So, several eccentrics arrived, hesitated, gnawed - and left home.

Moral: the classic question of what you prefer - freedom or security, there is a question of false, demagogic, but not to the end.

This dilemma is in the most important, as for each person constantly - criminal crime in Moscow is much higher than in the free capitals of free countries. (I'm not talking about security in terrible shelters for Dickens of the poor, that is, Russian hospitals!) The police regime, as you know, does not protect against terrorist attacks. In these matters, the "Freedom - Life" dilemma does not work.

But from the manifestations of street political violence, the police regime in Moscow - protects. Maybe we have no pogroms because we do not have civil society? (But the opposite statement is incorrect.) Judging by all surveys and voting results, Russian Nazis are most ready for political activity. They opened their mouths for a long time, only wait for the fruits from the tree of freedom to sprinkle. But not only they ... will take advantage of the sweet fruits of freedom and extremists from the opposite “shore”, although for the most part of their visitors from the Caucasus-an absolutely socially passive Soviet person. In Moscow (yes, probably at home), he is infinitely far from any civil, political activity. Trade activity - yes, criminal - often. But no policy! He left Soviet society, came to the Russian police-what politics, listen?!

But the Parisian Arab, living in civilian society is quite civilian, is politically active - we are observing examples of this active civil position today.

Does this mean that the presence of civil society is “bad”, and its absence is “good”? Children's formulation of the question. No, this means only one thing - you have to pay for all pleasure. True, there are two other problems.

First. If the strengthening of police arbitrariness and the growth of “skin-patriotism” is a cure for national riots, then ... do you prefer such medicines or such a disease? As for me, I am not ready to answer once and for all. It is clear that “both are worse” - only this is not an answer. But at least you need to see the problem. And to understand that if there is a question for 5-10% of intellectuals, then there is no question for 95-90% of the townsfolk. And their decisive opinion is democracy, my friends, democracy! ..

Second. Yes, a conflict of civilizations, yes, a clash of ethnic groups. But ... maybe you should not bury Western democracy for the hundredth time? Democracy in the United States survived the “Black Panther”, in the same Paris - 1968, but you’ll scrape, you will remember a lot of things. And - nothing, stands. Flexible system. But the tough police vertical, it is like this: while standing is standing, but when it collapses, it collapses (1917, 1989-1991). Also important truth. Only ... How to explain it to the xenophobic configured (not without reason!), Frightened (not without reason!) The layman?
