On the eve of the elections, “online” has noticeably become more active: for example, on the website Anekdot.Ru, among the usual “new” and “retro” jokes, a new section has appeared - “on the topic of the day.” Now on the Internet, a visitor to a gaming or entertainment site is simply doomed to see the faces and busts of most contenders for the throne flashing on advertising banners. A thoughtful user, after spending an hour or two, can try to study the situation ab ovo.
So, we type the address vybory.com (during the previous presidential elections, sites in the .ru domain could be counted on the fingers of one hand). Times have changed - there was nothing useful on this site other than a list of candidate sites (incomplete) and the standard "Make Your Choice" questionnaire. It is curious that out of the hundred and fifty who voted, more than 30 percent gave their vote to Yavlinsky (according to recent opinion polls, from 3 to 6 percent of voters are ready to vote for him).
The Vybory.Ru website, created by the Rosbusinessconsulting agency (rbk.ru), is an endless feed of political news, and almost nothing could be found out about Putin’s rivals, except for some information about voters’ preferences. But there are several analytical articles that are of interest to those who are curious not about what Vladimir Putin eats for breakfast, but, say, how successful is the decision of the main candidate to completely abandon advertising, etc.
The site Elections.Ru provides the curious with the most complete selection of biographies of candidates, sets out their beliefs and provides the inevitable data from sociological surveys, which, as always, are, however, at odds with the opinions of the online audience.
However, Yavlinsky’s website itself (www.yabloko.ru/Persons/YAVL/) is the most artless of all those considered. Apparently, they stopped updating it a year ago; it is impossible to extract any news about what Grigory Alekseevich thinks about his chances of winning, despite the fact that the site is just a section on one of the most actively visited political servers on the Runet .
When entering the website of Tuleev Amangeldy Moldagazyevich, also known as Aman Gumirovich (www.tuleev.ru), it is written in white and green that more than half of the visitors to this resource consider the 2000 elections to be the most pressing topic for discussion. But no trace of discussion (minus a handful of letters from fans) could be found. Without lingering on the news feed, sadly collected from the pine forest (from Tverskie Vesti to Interfax), we move on to the website of the only candidate who appears in public without a tie.
Even the name for Umar Dzhabrailov’s website was chosen with exquisite democratic calculation - not some dzhabrailov.ru, but simple and catchy - www.umar.ru. Mr. Dzhabrailov is the only candidate who owns his own website production agency. Therefore, even if the forecast about half a percent of votes for this candidate in the first round is correct, at least one thing cannot be taken away from him: Dzhabrailov’s website is beautiful and informative - for example, it turned out that Umar Alievich, it turns out, “has pleasure in giving jewelry to women,” while just below it is noted that he “divorced his last wife four years ago,” so “young beauties have some chance of winning his heart.”
The Titov.Ru website automatically transfers us to a place with the address titov.samara.ru. Where in the first lines it is indicated that Konstantin Titov’s new website is located here - www.titov2000.ru. Yeah. Having finally reached the desired resource of a dissenter from the Union of Right Forces, who did not approve of the party line of supporting Putin, we discover that the rebellious spirit is in everything. The site does not want to open at the request of the Netscape Navigator browser. Works only with MS Explorer.
But now it is clear where to go - not to putin.ru, but to www.putin2000.ru (the domain putin.ru exists and belongs to a certain Bagon LLC, but does not operate - probably the acting president not only advertises, but also ordered for others). Putin's website is reserved and strict. In a large photograph of the main presidential candidate, the designer cut off his forehead and ears for beauty - nothing superfluous, the eyes are enough. A series of small photos show the same plot: Vladimir Vladimirovich hurries towards someone invisible with his hand outstretched for a handshake. True, in the top picture, the designer, in a creative impulse, cut off Putin’s entire head, and arranged the entire series in reverse order, so it seems that the hero, having stretched his hand forward, is moving back, avoiding contact. "Anti-advertising" is consistently observed.
Are millions of banners and virtual kilometers of mailings and announcements really spent on these sites? Eleven participants in the “race”, apparently, are so confident in the victory of the favorite that they are not even going to move from the start. However, the percentage of “influential” voters on the Internet is still very high (compared to the television audience) - they needed to be somehow impressed. And we, the rest, suffered innocently.
