A good word and a cat is pleasant, and the teacher is even more so. The attitude of the state towards teachers is expressed in creating conditions for work, in social protection, salary and conditions for growth - and everyone will say that the situation on all these points today is obviously bad. However, in comparison with what? Only in comparison with the mental ideal and with the situation in many countries. And in comparison with other social groups in your country? Yes, it is the same! To whom, except for the guards of the throne, does the state treat well? By the way, the attitude towards doctors is even worse, they can envy teachers. Why is the situation this?
To criticize the power is an easy occupation and, if you do it in kitchens, and not on social networks, so far safe. But facilitating his soul in this way, it is useful to understand that passivity will still come to us - with time delay. If people their own health and education of children were actually more important than combing historical ulcers and pipe dreams about what pose we put in all, much would have changed.
Writing and talking about a bad attitude towards teachers is a common place. The educational system, medicine, the army ... It is impossible to improve something without changing the country as a whole. And even if in Russia it begins to change for the better, they will not get to us soon. Significant and relatively quick changes occurred only after serious crises of power and with the help of a civilized world. And it is not a fact that we will help us this time. We already bit the outstretched hand of help, the world could not forget about it. And in general, in this century he has other problems: Islam, terrorism and China.

Of course, I want to see something good in this life. And ideas arise - quite soviet in spirit: to fine parents for insulting the teacher with a student. A rich idea! Especially for the winner of the competition for the equipment of all Russian classes, corridors and toilets with cameras and recording systems. There is also a grant - to teach artificial intelligence to distinguish an insult from an attack.
The understanding that we will not see serious shifts, does not prevent us from acting reasonably. Rather, on the contrary, turning off the zombie, we will maintain mental strength and can direct them to something good. We will tell the children about the axiomes of Euclid, the laws of Newton, the Mendeleev table, etc.
Many people write about the attitude of parents and students to teachers, and basically evaluate them negatively. It is clear why: a teacher who, at least in this sense, will not speak in the press, and will not spend time on forums in most cases. Therefore, the picture is in the press, and especially on the Internet, it turns out to be shifted to the negative. More thanly, the opinions of people “on average” are studied by sociologists. The attitude of students towards teachers was most detailed by V. S. Sobkin with co -authors (“Teacher through the eyes of a modern teenager” [ 1 ]) and A. E. Ryabov (“Teacher - through the eyes of students and the student - through the eyes of the teacher” [ 2 ]), they discovered a lot of interesting things, but this opinion is only students, and not “people in general”. The attitude of parents towards teachers was studied by the Public Opinion Foundation ("Relations between teachers and parents of schoolchildren" [ 3 ]). This is a little closer to our topic, and this is how FOM summarizes his data.
“The opinion is almost generally accepted that parents should support and protect the authority of the teacher in the eyes of the child. This is the main argument against criticizing school teachers in the presence of children. From the point of view of 77% of parents, this should not be done under any circumstances. Less commonly (13%), an alternative opinion was expressed, according to which in certain cases it is permissible to criticize the teacher with the child. Explaining their position, these respondents, as a rule, talked about cases of a rough, unacceptable behavior of the teacher: if the teacher allowed himself excess, for example , to hit the child; I humiliated the child in front of the class. The authority of the teacher in matters of raising children for Russians as a whole is quite high. So, according to half of the respondents (55% of the parents), in cases where parents have difficulties in communicating with the child, it is worth seeking help, advice to the class teacher or another school teacher. The opposite point of view - that this should not be done - adhere to 32% of the parents. ”
The data is interesting, but indirect. These numbers are good or bad, incomprehensible. Maybe parents believe that it is impossible to criticize adults at all and the attitude to school has nothing to do with it? In addition, a ban on criticism in any circumstances is it good or, conversely, bad? But did anyone ask directly, is it a respected profession, is it prestigious? Yes, there is such data, but it is difficult to understand anything from them. If only because the results greatly depend on the survey methodology, on the exact text of the questionnaire. And it does not surprise anyone when different groups of sociologists get different results. For example, in one review, these are the results of two studies.
“According to the Public Opinion of the Foundation, among Russians there is a positive dynamics in relation to the profession of a school teacher. So, if in 2001 only a third of the respondents (32%) indicated that they are respected, then in 2014 - more than half (54%). It is important to note that the social perception of the prestige of the profession in recent years has changed slightly. So, according to the results of the VTsIOM, in the period from 2008 to 2014, the share of respondents who consider it as “absolutely prestigious” (from 35% in 2008 to 27% in 2014) decreased by 8%. At the same time, the share of those who attributes the profession of the teacher to “ordinary craft” (from 38% to 47%) increased by 9%. Only 23% of Russians surveyed consider the profession of a school teacher prestigious and in recent years their number has not grown. ”
Two digits are given through one phrase, which differ twice (54% and 23%), and this does not surprise the author, he does not delay. Maybe because he himself studied the well -being of teachers, and brought these data "for completeness." Health is an important thing to see the data received by this author, we must ask the Internet “Social status of the profession of a teacher: self -determination of Russian teachers”. But it, judging by the survey, it turns out some strange, people are too different answers. The prestige of the profession is a large objective thing, this is not my well -being, which in the morning in the lessons is one, and then another - because the next commission and extraordinary reporting.
The perception of the teachers of their status in society themselves is a little strange. If you decompose all by prestige for ten gradations, then 8% of teachers will say that they have a place on the lowest shelf, but 3% on the upper, at paradise gate.
Let us return to the opinion of "people in general." The truth is known in comparison, according to the Levada Center (“The main professions according to the inhabitants of Russia” [ 4 ]), in the list of 32 professions, citizens put teachers in response-not the state, but their personal-in second place for doctors. In general, the beginning of the list: doctors, school teachers, scientists, peasants, workers, military, creative intelligentsia (writers, artists, composers), university teachers ... And then see for yourself, there are a lot of interesting things. What is the reason for such a striking difference between the relationship of specific people and the relations of the state?
The reason for the scatter and stagger in understanding prestige may be this. The attitude of the state is obvious, and sociologists do not ask about it. Firstly, not informative, and secondly, you ask you to publish the result, so you will also be announced by the agent. About the attitude of people to ask both safer and more interesting. In a normal situation, one could ask about the attitude of society. But do we have a "society" in our country? The attitude of society is formed from people's relations, and it is expressed in relation to the state. But if people seem like this, and the state is categorically that, then where is it, is it a society? Is it in this case at all?
And along the way, it becomes clear why such a scatter of the teachers themselves about the prestige of their profession. Because one by prestige understands precisely the attitude of the state towards teachers of the “optimized” education, and the other-the attitude towards him personally with whom he is in contact-students and parents.
But why is there such a great difference in relation to the teachers of the state and people? It seems to me that the reason is that the state sees competitors in teachers (and partly in parents), hence the suppression of teachers. Educational officials who are psychologically envious of teachers (after all, their “our future”, which sits in our classes, does not listen to daily), are pleased to be a guide and generator of this policy. I suppose they also want them to be listened carefully to trust, but ... salary ... load ... However, any teacher will be glad to see in his class of any official at the board - as a teacher, of course. And not drawing cats “rear view”, but a specific lesson in a very specific class. But not for long - to have time to take him out alive from the claws of schoolchildren.
It seems to me that the difference between the attitude to the teachers of the authorities and people now, after the epidemic, will become more striking. The real incomes of teachers will crawl, like all people, down, and this is the criterion of the relation of the state. However, the respect of the parents will crawl up. Because people learned what it is when the child has nowhere to “shove”. And they will become even more grateful to teachers who, at least part of the time, replace them with the embrasure, from which questions and fan are questions.
Why is the hole black and how it was seen if it is black; How the screen is arranged at the electronic clock, I dismantled them and what kind of grooves on the glass; Why in the plane the ends of the wings are bent up; Why did you say that the network is not 220 volts, but how much is there; Where to get a copper wire - I am making a Gaussian gun, no, I have already done, broke the door, now I want to make more powerful. The latter is the girl’s question, I swear! These are real questions of schoolchildren, reader, honestly! And only in one group, however, not in one lesson.
PS For many years of work in applied physics, I have seen things many times that - as it seemed to me - can be shown to schoolchildren and tell them about interesting technology and physics associated with specific artifacts. And to the question of the attitude of people: I do not remember that colleagues at different enterprises did not give me what I licked for. And a lot was just brought to me by employees who knew that I spend three evenings a week at the board. What was not given to me, grunting: “Hold on, show your schoolchildren” ...
