The Russian President Dmitry Medvedev did not have time to set as an example to the unavailable Viktor Yanukovych, the obedient Alexander Lukashenko, as it became known that Alexander Grigoryevich would not receive the second tranche of the Russian loan, coquettishly named the Eurasian Economic Community. There is no progress in carrying out reforms, say officials of the Eurasian Development Bank. And since there is no progress, then there is no money. And since there is no money, even a miracle in the form of a Russian integration discount will not give Minsk a chance to save the rapidly coming to the bottom of the Belarusian economy.
I was surprised not that the approximate Alexander Grigoryevich turned out to be indicative of the spit literally the day after the presidential praise. Indicative flogging is a big Russian style, they can do it in Moscow. No, another coincidence interested me and seemed symbolic: just on the day when Moscow refused Minsk, Brussels refused Kyiv. The IMF mission, which was supposed to come to the Ukrainian capital to save the local Lukashenko - Viktor Yanukovych, decided to postpone her visit. For two months. Probably, there is no progress in the reform?
Over the past two decades in Minsk, they have been talking about integration with Russia. It is not necessary to think that only under Lukashenko - his actual predecessor, Prime Minister Kebich, also developed integration agreements. And over the past two decades in Kyiv, they talk about the European choice. No need to think that Yanukovych does not say. Even as he says: just on the eve of the 20th anniversary, he published an article in which he strongly argued - a European choice.
The choice is European, and the result is Belarusian. How could it turn out that two decades of Russian choice from Minsk and European choice from Kyiv led to the same result - everything is covered with a copper basin of domestic production?
And because ultimately it is important not what your orientation you have and what you are doing. And if you do nothing, then you can make any speeches and write any articles - this is completely useless. For twenty years of spells about the Russian choice, the Old Man planted the country on the needle of Moscow "integration" prices and brought its economy to complete insanity. Ukrainian leaders, along with his friendly oligarchs, simply plundered the territory that he got. Now the Belarusian "scoop" suspiciously resembles the Ukrainian "common fund" - who would have thought?
If you are talking about the Russian choice, you just need to give the country to Putin - preferably by areas, as the noble Vladimir Vladimirovich proposed. And then they will take care of the Belarusians as native serfs, and not as the "Fatherland". If you are talking about a European choice, you should not turn the country into a corrupt estate - no one will give you money for the maintenance of such an estate in Brussels.
So the stunned "dads" on both sides of the border look at each other. Where were they mistaken? Maybe this Lukashenko had to focus on Europe, and Yanukovych on Russia? But what would change? Then Moscow would not give money to Yanukovych, and Brussels - Lukashenko. Then in the Belarusian prison there would be only one candidate for the presidency, and in the Ukrainian - a few. But the lattices on the windows of cameras would hardly undergo significant changes.
Even the policy of Brussels or Moscow in relation to guarded countries would not have been significantly different. After all, if you figure it out, Moscow and Brussels behave exactly the same - in response to nothing meaningful, they give anything that do not mean promises in the hope that the “client” will understand: you need to behave well. Moscow signs one integration agreement with Minsk in the hope that the "Old Man" is about to give up, Belarusians will soon go to vegetarian food, to the bulb - but it does not give up! Europeans are preparing an agreement on the free trade zone with Ukraine, they want to sign it in the hope that before the ratification of the document in the parliaments of the EU countries, Yanukovych will become the main democrat of the continent - and are disappointed. Neither in Minsk nor in Kyiv will never do anything in confirmation of beautiful words and slogans. In the end, the "dads" live for themselves, and not for their serfs.
