From the first line, the author declares himself as a man who has filled his hand: “Our boat left the harbor when the cold October dawn was only engaged in the Barents Sea ...”
Everything is interesting here - both a purely civilian “harbor”, and certainly a “cold” dawn, which of course “was engaged”. But the most curious is that in October, the sun behind the Arctic circle in the area of Severomorsk is shown over the horizon (if it breaks through due to dense clouds) about noon. However, the prosecutor general has his own sensations of time, he writes about “morning cold and frost”, which make him “mobilize to the end”.
Overboard, according to the author, not just cold water, but certainly “water”, and necessarily “lead” or “lead-black”. And for some reason, not Barents, as we were taught in the geography lesson, but the Barents Sea. Looking at the sea, the author makes sacred confessions:
“The thunderstorm sky finally darkened, and with it the sea. It is a reflection of the sky. When I realized a few years ago that from the atheist (what will be the willy-nilly there was any prosecutor of the Soviet era) became a believer, I felt something similar in myself. God is reflected in man, as in water - the sky. You need to understand God. And now my task is to recognize the formidable and at the same time the wise of God's fishing ... ”( God's Providence - this, one must understand, about the very“ first impulse ”that led to the disaster. - A.E. )
However, “there was another task that was determined by my own professional and life position,” the general prosecutor opens the maps. -To affirm the standard of truth ... This symbol of the standard (I once saw it in the Paris Chamber of measures and scales-such a small steel cube-pylogram ...) should become the measure of all our actions-from the admiral to the midshipman and from the engineer to the pilot. Of course, reaching such a standard, investigating such a difficult matter, was not easy ... ”
... The general prosecutor saw a sign from above at the first exit to the sea: "As if the sun itself gave us hope for the disclosure of truth." The author does not skimp on the description of specific sensations:
“The nerves were literally sick ... But I gathered like a spring, and decided to go forward, no matter what. In the literal sense of the word ... ".
“As a general prosecutor, I then felt the most severe cargo on their shoulders, as if stars on the uniform had turned into pood giries ...”
“The purge winds on the Barents Sea are able to freeze anyone. But I stubbornly stood on a special bridge and controlled primary work on the investigation. Thank you, compassionate assistants and members of the rescue group dragged a thermos with hot tea or coffee from time to time ... "
“It was then that I realized that, regardless of hellish conditions, I should enter this underworld. It was necessary not only to enter, but also ... to comment on the scale of the tragedy. <...> And very soon this report took place. I stood in the womb of the atomic submarine and led him live. He went around the whole world then ... "
With a great degree of responsibility, it can be assumed that the steel character of the prosecutor general was formed in childhood. The memories of him were approaching the author just at the moment when he, a land man, suffered from pitching in the Admiral’s boat, going to the place of death of Kursk:
“I remember, somewhere, in some town, almost all teenage boys shot each other from slingshots. There were such bent squiggles from thick wire. There was something more serious. I always repulsed.
And I developed a fighting character, so I did not give anyone a descent. Once, I confess, I had given one guy (he was older and higher than me) that he flew into the ditch. But he swung at me with an ordinary, banal crowbar, against which, in accordance with the proverb, there is no reception ... in a word, I began to look for techniques even then. ”
Volodya Ustinov was the eighth year at that time ...
Reading the book of the prosecutor, you cannot get rid of the thought that the author always refutes some invisible opponents and, most importantly, tries to prove his zeal performed by the presidential will.
The “dynamic narrative promised by the publishers, in which many facts, to this day are unknown to this day,” seemed to be lost somewhere. There are no such facts in the book “Truth about Kursk”.
As there is no intelligible explanation of the causes of the “abnormal impulse” that caused the explosion of the torpedo, and the conclusions of experts about why almost the entire ammunition of the torpedo compartment exploded. Having at his disposal 133 of the volumes of the criminal case, dozens of technical examinations and acts of inspection of the raised submarine, giving the word the reader “not to compose fairy tales” and calling for others to do this, the author of the Pravda about Kursk falls into myth -making. Trying to comment on the verified conclusion of the investigative brigade about the last minutes of Kursk, for some reason he decides to call for the aid of Captain 1st rank in the reserve of Mikhail Volzhinsky. And writes from his words:
“After the first explosion, the personnel of the central post, that is, the“ brain ”of the boat, was very shell -shocked, so no records in the flight journals were more made. This is reasonable. At the same time, the command of the boat correctly appreciated the nature of the growing threat and, apparently, made an attempt by the Emergency Helge of Kursk to the periscope depth. This was necessary in order to try in the surface position to flood the first compartment where the fire raged, and prevent the explosion of the entire ammunition ... ”.
It is unnecessary to talk about the latest records in the watch journal, because this magazine was not found. And the one that was discovered led the previous watch, and the recordings in it end three and a half hours before the disaster. It is strange to talk about an attempt to use periscope depth. Perhaps the author made a reservation, not understanding the difference between the ascent under the periscope and the surfacing in the surface position, but here the inconspication. There was no need to flood the first compartment forcibly - the sea was already bursting into it through the destroyed pipes of two torpedo devices.
From the first news of the Kursk tragedy, the most daring and remains the question of the chances of saving the surviving crew members. However, in the book of the Prosecutor General there are no arguments proving that the submariners who survived after the second explosion, led by Captain-Lieutenant Dmitry Kolesnikov, remained alive in the ninth compartment “no more than 8 hours”. One single paragraph, referring to the opinion of the nameless "experts", cannot convince anyone.
And underwater knocks, swaddled and day, and two after? And the first conclusions of forensic experts hid in the volumes of a criminal case? And the doubts of the direct managers of the investigative brigade? Lawyer Boris Kuznetsov, who protects the interests of those who lost their loved ones on Kursk, paid attention to these circumstances a year and a half ago - immediately after the termination of investigative actions. But the Prosecutor General calls to believe in his spells: “For the prosecutor, especially the general prosecutor of the world power, the role of a witness is not a very familiar role. But I can say with confidence that my certificate is pure truth ... ”
There is no intelligible assessment of the actions of the rescue services of the Northern Fleet in the book. First, from the interrogation of the former commander of the Northern Fleet, Admiral V.A. Popov we will find out: on August 13, rescue vehicles could not be shy to the emergency hatch of the 9th compartment. In the next paragraph, already on his own behalf, the Prosecutor General reports that "Russia officially turned to Norway for help to extract the bodies of the dead ...". He talks about how these works passed, how much and why technological cuts were made in the boat case (the operation to extract the bodies of the dead took place in October, that is, two months later, but, apparently, everything was confused in the author’s head). In the next paragraph, we read: “On August 21, 2000, the 9th compartment was opened by Norwegian divers; He turned out to be flooded. "
And then again about the search and rescue operation, mediocre and ingloriously ended. For some reason, the prosecutor turns into a lawyer and begins to repeat about the complex rose of winds, the changeable flow, the suddenly arising storm: “That is why the search and rescue operation was significantly difficult ...“ AS-34 ”... three times attempted the suction for the emergency rescue hatch of the cruiser, but the suction did not occur ...”.
Ah, what a wretch this "suction" - well, did not happen, and that’s it! The prosecutor was even sympathetic ... But if he carefully read the materials collected by his subordinates, or at least a decision on the termination of the investigation in the case, which he approved by his signature, would see the expert’s conclusion: the real opportunity to be attached to the commander of the 9th compartment was only on August 17, when the captain of the 3rd rank Sholokhov controlled the apparatus of “AS-34”, and on August 19, when the apparatus, when the apparatus was applied by the apparatus, when the apparatus was applied. "AS-36" was ruled by the captain of the 2nd rank of peppers. All other attempts - both before and after - only denoted the appearance of work, but could not give the real result due to objective circumstances - the malfunctions of the devices themselves, as well as the low qualifications of specialists admitted to management.
The rise of Kursk, in the interpretation of Vladimir Ustinov, became a “symbol of the victory of political will over various minor considerations. It was political will, in the way I think that became the main factor in raising ... ” Who interfered with the triumph of this will and what “minor considerations” remains a mystery.
Despite the “victory of the political will” and contrary to all the promises of the Commander -in -Chief of the Navy, the cut part of the boat remained at the bottom. Not wanting it himself, Vladimir Ustinov admits to this: “The prosecutor’s office initially insisted that all parts of the Premier League be raised ...” True, after a few dozen pages, the prosecutor disavow this confession:
“The nasal compartment ... It was decided to destroy on the spot ... But only after all the objects necessary for the investigation are collected. Namely, all material evidence was collected by that time ... ”
Speaking about what investigators in the 9th compartment discovered, he mentions a “Borisov’s note” with a tongue twister. And not a word about which a note, and about its author. Even the initials of the deceased Ustinov do not lead. However, how did the leader and coordinator know that there were three Borisovs on board the Kursk - two crew members and the seconded military representative from the Dagdizel plant.
Perhaps, only attempts for thoughtfulness can compete with sovereign rhetoric in this book. Not everyone can understand the inflamed thought of the author:
“Even a highly intellectual person is not always able to cope with the quick analysis of many devices of devices, and simply combine this with an internal instinctive feeling. Or, excuse me, with internal rash. And I think that the decision here is not living in the departure of our army on a contract basis. In principle, it is better to cook conscripts. Both to the army and in educational units. And so, so, I believe that we are a great world power that is destined to be the whole XXI century. This is at least ... ".
From such conclusions that pursue you on almost every second page, you do not know where to go, but the author continues to philosophize:
“I do not want to offend anyone, but the material, physiological basis of everything that we do remains. Is there a place in such a world for the spiritual mission of man? Why is she? ” In such an unexpected way, the author leads us to his explanation of the heroic behavior of submariners in the 9th compartment:
“And what is heroism, shown today by our Russian submariner in inhuman conditions, when his mind was boiling with him, perhaps, in the most literal sense (carbon monoxide poisoning!), That is, he hardly drove his pen on paper in almost complete darkness, but still left important evidence for the investigation ...”.
Talking about the new nature of the wars, the Prosecutor General in passing gives the installation to the Minister of Defense - the current one and the fact that they will come after him:
“How will we drive submarines through the seas if computer systems fail? Nod to hackers who hack some secret codes? Nonsense. How to draw tank columns through the alleged minefields? How to attack goals from the air, where can they answer with a shot from Stinger? Follow orders and common sense is what the army should hold in a combat -ready state. ”
He spoke about the rise of Kursk aphoristic, but capacious: “It was a difficult problem from both the technological and from the climatic side.”
Only in order to sneak over the book of the Prosecutor General, it was not worth taking on the pen. You can’t be silent for a different reason. In the book with the word "Pravda" on the cover, facts are distorted and ignorance is replicated.
Having taken to list all the accidents, disasters with submarines since 1952, the author forgot about the two heavy. This is the flooding of the K-429 at the Kamchatka coastal training ground in June 1983 (14 people died) and the loss of the K-219 strategic missile cruiser with fifteen MBR in nuclear equipment and two nuclear reactors in the Sargasso Sea in October 1986 (four people were killed).
But the diesel boat M-200 Ustinov remembered twice. For the first time, according to the prosecutor general, she “died in the Baltic Sea on November 21, 1956. 28 crew members were killed. " And less than a year later, on September 26, 1957, the same "diesel submarine M-200 sank in the Baltic Sea." This time, according to the author, 35 crew members were killed ... I don’t know how it is possible ...
But the prosecutor stubbornly continues to deal with common sense.
The Soviet battleship “Novorossiysk”, blown up on the raid in 1955, is endowed with the ability to “carry nuclear artillery distant charges”. If this semantic abrasadabra means nuclear artillery shells, so they began to enter the service much later than the death of Novorossiysk.
The deep-sea K-278 Komsomolets, armed only with torpedo devices, under his pen becomes a “missile cruiser”. The Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences is crossed with an unidentified "Institute of Oceanography." Longitudinal stability (professional term, known to submariners, designers and builders pl) has turned into “vertical stability”.
The apotheosis of professional ignorance was discussions about the cables, with the help of which they allegedly tried to raise the Komsomolets in 1997 ... “The Kapron cord broke off during a jerk,” the prosecutor general testifies. Yes, it would be known to him that the Komsomolets did not try to raise. Only VSK decided to raise - a pop -up rescue chamber from the Komsomol, which was found on the ground in the immediate vicinity of the submarine itself. In it, as is known from the circumstances of that disaster, there are the remains of the commander of the 1st rank captain Evgeny Vanin and two other crew members. And the cable really burst - the camera again went to the bottom and, it seems, forever.
Having walked around the Bu around (a little earlier he wrote about the virtual “dosimeters” that placed “at the depths around the reactor” of the boat), the author leads us into the reactor compartment. It turns out that “our submariners drowned nuclear reactors manually, in addition to automation. They did not just remember this, they spent their last minutes, their last life efforts ... ". Where this myth was born from - you can only guess. Neither from the materials of the criminal case, nor from conversations with specialists who examined the Kursk reactor premises in detail, nothing similar should. Moreover, at all levels, nuclear workers proudly repeated that the automation in the reactor compartment worked impeccably and cleanly. “Manually jerking” nothing was required.
Trying to take a major note under the curtain, the Prosecutor General decides on a bold comparison: “A new organization arose in Brussels that fall, in addition to NATO and to many others. This is the Kursk International Foundation, the main goal of which is to facilitate the task of raising the Russian atomic missile carrier. ” How easily we found an alternative to the Warsaw Treaty ... The current Minister of Foreign Affairs did not respond to this find in any way. But his predecessor, secretary of the Security Council, Igor Ivanov, invited to the presentation of the prosecutor’s bestseller. “The most important thing in this book is its name,” his winged words quoted “Interfax”.
