The fact that pensioners and other low-income citizens are attracted to vote by promises of money or food is not news. The leaders of United Russia in the Kirov region, Izvestia reports, decided to extend this practice to party primaries, during which electors - members of the National Civil Front - supposedly have to choose candidates for the regional party list. United Russia members are giving 200 rubles for participation in the primaries, which has led to considerable excitement. However, as the head of the regional organization of United Russia, Vyacheslav Timchenko, told the newspaper, “Many, in the old fashioned way, believe that the essence of the primaries is to decide who is first, second or third. But that's not the point". The point is obvious that, having turned elections into a farce, the ruling party cannot stop and makes everything it undertakes a farce.
