I did not have (and no) no desire to participate in your, roughly speaking, discussions regarding the necessary degree of whiteness of journalistic clothes. Moreover, in the discussion, accompanied by the characteristic questions of “who are you?”, As well as flapping doors. There was, you know, the hope that the high arguing parties would have enough humor to stop this dispute of the Slavs among themselves. Alas, the scandal does not stop and covers new participants. Which, in my opinion, the view of the deputy chief editor of the Hedgehog, is already seriously harming the matter.

I am not going to diminish the importance of the topic you raised about the ethics of our profession. Of course, I, a person who has worked in this profession for almost thirty years, has his own opinion. However, I believe that the time for a dispute on this occasion has already passed, or has not yet been ankle. Guys, look around, look at the television programs called “analytical”, read the transcript of the “big” presidential press conference. It is obvious that there is no such indirect advertising in the work of those who cook such products. They are engaged in a straight frank anything that is not shy of propaganda. There is every reason to believe that in the coming year, which the authorities considers to be “difficult” for itself, this shaft of propaganda will finally overwhelm the country. It is already clear how the authorities are selected to the printing press and the Internet.

And now I remind you what for the sake of two years ago we started a hedgehog project. The idea was to preserve in our country a certain space where a presentation of various, sometimes opposite points of view is possible. We want the reader at least not weaned from the fact that you can argue not only in the kitchen. And now, before our eyes, journalism is losing this particular quality, after which he ceases to be journalism at all.

It cannot be excluded that the “hedgehog” will remain one of the few islands where it will be possible to maintain freedom of expression. So, maybe it is worth stepping on the throat of your own nature, put your ambitions where you yourself want, and remember thousands of readers who are still expensive a living word and who come for him in the “daily magazine”. And in this, speaking with high calm, today our mission is to provide them with such an opportunity. I propose to leave a discussion and start work, in which, of course, one should proceed from the presumption of each other's decency.
