Anniversary

March 4 marks the 75th anniversary of the outstanding Russian scientist, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Isaakovich Minkin. He is the head of the department of natural compounds of the Faculty of Chemistry and director of the Research Institute of Physical Organic Chemistry of the Southern Federal University. It would take a long time to list his numerous scientific regalia and government awards, but this is not necessary. For a scientist, recognition from colleagues (which is an extreme thing in any creative community, and especially in the Russian one) is more expensive. He is one of the most cited scientists in Russia. The range of his interests is extremely wide and is associated with the development of a general principle for the design of molecular systems. Works of V.I. Minkin - these are 12 monographs from which the next generations of researchers will study.

Vladimir Minkin was born, studied, worked and works in Rostov-on-Don. His scientific school is one of the islands, fortunately, of a high level that has not yet been completely lost, which Russia still maintains in rare areas of science. In chemistry, this happens to a sufficient extent thanks to the efforts of Vladimir Isaakovich.
