"Thaw" outraged by smoking fighters

One of the authors of the anti -tobacco law sent a complaint about the director Valery Todorovsky to the Roskomnadzno and the Ostankino Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office in connection with the “propaganda of drug addiction” in his television series “Thaw”.

The Thaw was shown on Channel One from December 2 to 10 and, according to the “Film of the Pro,” , became the main television event of the week.

Candidate of Medical Sciences Alexei Shabashov, member of the Coordinating Council for Combating tobacco under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, who participated in the development of an anti -Tabacian law, believes that there are too much smoke in the series, especially women.

“The main character constantly smokes for no reason and reasons. - cites the words of Shabashov "Komsomolskaya Pravda." - The share of smoking women is disproportionately great in the scenes of the film. According to statistics in the USSR at that time, 7% to 10% of women were smoked. A constant demonstration of cigarettes in the frame is inexplicable by any artistic intention. ”

“Even the main character, who at first refrained, began to smoke by the end of the tape,” the developer of the anti -tobacco law is outraged.

“This is propaganda of drug addiction! It is necessary to break the series in permanentially, and let the director explain what the artistic value of each frame in which there is a cigarette. He will not be able to convincingly explain - let him bear administrative responsibility in accordance with federal law, ”says Shabashov. He considers it necessary to change the marking of the film to "18+".

If claims to the “thaw” are considered reasonable, for each scene of smoking on the authors of the series, a fine of 100 to 170 thousand rubles can be imposed.

The Thaw also caused the indignation of the State Duma deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who demanded that the series be banned for promoting smoking and drunkenness. Nevertheless, reported on the Channel One website , Valery Todorovsky may be removed the second season.
