Ivan Dorn himself, who is now getting from the Ukrainian press for concerts in Russia and pacifist statements about the fraternity of the peoples, says that he does not want to be pop music -certainly not Russian. As evidence of his words, the 29-year-old artist recorded in Los Angeles the English-language album “Open The Dorn” , for which, according to the documentary series that recorded studio work, Ivan Dorn is going to receive Grammy, and then get into American hit parades, like the Alabama Shakes group. He has such a daring plan.

“Open The Dorn” is, of course, not pop music either by Russian standards, or even by American (it should be noted that the mainstream is monstrous everywhere, only a grin of it is different). This is a dance underground. Ivan Dorn and his team recorded a club album, on which they shine with brilliant their strong side - rhythm. The best on “Open The Dorn” is an unpredictable bit that changes its shape from track to track, mutating through jazz knitting from House to Disco, from Fank to the Brooklyn hip-hop of the 1980s, from Afrobita again to house. Under a variable rhythm, Ivan Dorn cupually muttering his illegible viras, as a child who imitates foreign speech. Some slogans, however, can be disassembled. The English -speaking tracks with “Open the Dorn” lacks full -fledged melodies and classic sorgoting. Nevertheless, pop-old is a complete story told by the combinations of a verse, a chorus and a bridge. This rule is immutable, as the laws of gravity. This must be remembered, especially if you think about Grammy.
