For more than a year, it was unclear whether Sulim Yamadayev, the former commander of the Vostok special battalion, Hero of Russia and sworn enemy of Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, was really killed in Dubai. Official representatives of the United Arab Emirates claimed that he was killed before, but the Russian side still has not received documentary evidence from them, and Sulim’s brother Isa Yamadayev even stated that he was alive. However, now the Dubai authorities have sent documents confirming the death of Yamadayev to the Prosecutor General’s Office. Earlier, in mid-April, Kadyrov's former groom, Iranian Mahdi Lornia, and Tajik citizen Mahsudjon Ismatov were sentenced in Dubai - they were found guilty of the murder of Sulim Yamadayev and sent to life imprisonment. The influential Duma deputy from Chechnya, Adam Delimkhanov, is believed to have ordered the assassination attempt in the UAE.
