For three weeks now, France has been gripped by numerous protests - the country is in a political crisis. The government announced today that the controversial "first hire agreement" will be amended. It is not yet clear how the trade union movements - radicals who continue to demand the unconditional cancellation of the contract - will react to this decision. There was a split within the protest movement. It is still unclear whether France will be plunged into another stage of political confrontation. Much will depend on today's meeting of leaders of youth organizations.
