The Duma is always looking for accomplices of terrorists, and prefers to look “under the lantern” - not so long ago, speaker Boris Gryzlov saw a connection with terrorists in the publications of Moskovsky Komsomolets and Vedomosti. A Just Russia deputy, Semyon Bagdasarov, asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to evaluate Alexander Minkin’s article “Rise from the Toilet” in MK from this point of view: he considered that the version of the cause of the terrorist attacks in the Moscow metro set out by the journalist was just right! — coincided “with the assessment of one of the radical leaders” of Islamic terrorists. Apparently, newspapers should either not write at all about the possible causes of terrorist attacks or come up with some completely implausible reasons, otherwise they will be accused of complicity. But the Prosecutor General’s Office went further: in a response to a deputy’s request, signed by Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Grin, it is said that not only the media can be used by terrorists to influence mass consciousness, but also certain “imaginary “fighters” for human rights” and oppositionists also participate in this information and ideological war in order to destabilize the internal political situation.
As Vedomosti writes, Grin still does not consider human rights activists and oppositionists the main danger, giving these laurels to terrorists operating under the guise of radical Islam. However, “the criminal activities of right-wing radical groups have also intensified,” including the banned National Bolshevik Party, “the most structured radical youth association.” And with them the “so-called irreconcilable opposition” - “The Other Russia” and Mikhail Kasyanov’s RNDS. They allegedly teach young people “the theory and practice of forceful opposition to law enforcement agencies using the example of color revolutions in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.” And, of course, it was impossible not to mention the hand of the West: in the coordination of the actions of the oppositionists (it’s interesting what Grin means) one can see “the centralized influence on them from the ideologists of the “democratization” of Russia according to the Western model.” However, supporters of Russian nationalism, so be it, are also dangerous.
In general, it is not entirely clear whether the Prosecutor General’s Office gave an answer to the deputy’s request (however, Gennady Gudkov, a member of the Duma Security Committee, whose words are quoted by the newspaper, believes that the deputy should be satisfied). All bad people and organizations that cause trouble for the regime are lumped together. Someone is called more dangerous, but, in general, terrorists, media, oppositionists, human rights activists - everyone wants harm to Russia, everyone wants to create chaos here.
The same Gudkov reacted to this with bewilderment: he does not understand why it is necessary to put organizations that are prohibited and operating legally on the same level.
