Human rights activists report the death of 27-year-old Roman Fomkin, who was arrested on suspicion of beating citizens of Tajikistan and was being held in a pre-trial detention center. According to Ekho Moskvy, according to human rights activists, Fomkin died in the hospital due to an overdose of medications that were injected into him in the pre-trial detention center. They will demand an investigation into the circumstances of Fomkin's death. It is known that Fomkin suffered from schizophrenia. In addition, there is a medical report about drug poisoning during treatment for schizophrenia. Fomkin was in a coma, then was brought out of it in the hospital and returned to the pre-trial detention center (at first he was in Butyrka, after the hospital - in Matrosskaya Tishina). After 20 days, he was released from arrest and taken to the hospital, where he died a week later.
Let us remember that lawyer Sergei Magnitsky died in “Matrosskaya Tishina”, and he was brought there from “Butyrka”, where, under the monstrous conditions of detention, his health tragically deteriorated. His death led to several resignations and criminal charges, but prisoners and former prisoners continue to die.
