Grief on a grand scale

A luxurious mansion of the Yeltsin Foundation may appear in Filevsky Park. The Ministry of Defense transferred its lands to him, and the mayor's office is clearing the territory of the remaining buildings, Vedomosti writes. The project aroused the indignation of State Duma deputy Alexei Mitrofanov; he is sure that Yeltsin’s name is being used as a cover to turn the park “into a reception area for distinguished guests and delegations.” The building is planned to house Yeltsin's archive, his personal belongings and a library; workplaces will be equipped for people who study history, political science and social sciences.
