Mobile Academy Berlin is going to Novosibirsk

On May 20 and 21, Mobile Academy Berlin will present in Novosibirsk his new project “Talks from the Dark Room”. The space for the performer of the curator and artist Hannah Khursig will be the empty space of the upper floor of the department store.

In the center of conversations on the sixth floor of the Luksé department store (Serebrennikovskaya St., 31) there will be lost and exhausted texts, the goet's website in Novosibirsk reports .

The main actors of the installation apparatus, which will transfer to date the central motifs of the lost text of the second volume of Gogol’s “Dead Souls” will be “storytellers” - experts in various areas from Novosibirsk, as well as the theoreticals and artists from St. Petersburg, Moscow and Berlin, chosen during the preparation for the project.

The device consists of six stations (waiting room, office, studio, arena, cinema and kitchen), between which the public can move. These stations reflect various forms of speech statements in several formats, live or in recordings: lectures and dialogs with experts, “charismatic consultations”, kitchen gossip, acting readers. All stations will work at the same time. Spectators will be able to freely move among what is happening, as if at the exhibition, and through a special multi -channel audio system, connect to any of the ongoing actions and conversations.

Among the invited experts, the historian, founder and lecturer of Open University in Novosibirsk Dmitry Kholyavchenko, translator, entrepreneur, collector and founder of the first and only museum of funeral culture Sergey Yakushin, teacher of the European University in St. Petersburg, senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Transplant Surgeon, Head of the Center Surgeons of aorta, coronary and peripheral arteries at the NNIIPK named after E.N. Meshalkina Alexander Chernyavsky.

The curator and copialist Hannah Khursig founded Mobile Academy Berlin in 1999. Since that time, Mobile Academy has been developing and organizing performances at the junction of the theater and other art genres in public and semi -public spaces in order to spread and exchange knowledge.

The latest work of Mobile Academy is aimed at creating public spaces intended for training and educational performance installations, where the rhetoric of dialogue and the art of communication are put at the forefront.
