The Pioneer will host Weekend John Cassavetis

On December 2 and3, in the program “Finally in the Cinema”, the Moscow cinema “Pioneer” will show films of American director John Cassavetis.

“Husbands” - one of the masterpieces of Cassavetis, in which all the elements of his style are rough realism removed from his hands, organic improvisation, superdramatism, a combination of tragedy and irony - reached the climax. The story of three long -standing friends who go into a long -term fuss - a kind of commemoration in their own lives - after a meeting at the funeral of a common friend. The film involves an outstanding acting ensemble consisting of Ben Gazarra, Peter Falk and John Cassavetis himself. “Husbands” is one of the main films in the history of friendship and search for yourself, a movie that you not just watch, but physically, emotionally live like life itself.

“Streams of Love” is the last and possibly the most personal film of Cassavetis, which he partly shot in his own house. The story of the famous writer (John Cassavetis), tired of the life of life, who suddenly invades several people at once-a recent lover, an ex-wife with their ten-year-old son and a sister who is in full inflating due to the recently experienced divorce. In the role of the hero’s sister, the muse, spouse and permanent actress Cassavetis are the Great Gina Rowlands. “Streams of love” - an outstanding movie about the relationship and emotional resources of a person, which reaches Bergman's heights. The picture received the Golden Bear at the Film Festival in Berlin.
