Alexander Brod stopped a hunger strike, and this is the first good news. Another good news is due to the fact that Alexander Semenovich still does not include candidates worthy of entering the Presidential Council of Human Rights, for which he was starving. The head of the HRC Mikhail Fedotov, in other cases soft and compliant, this time showed rigidity. According to him, the list will not be reviewed, and there is no place in it.
Why are both news good? Firstly, a person should eat so as not to die. Secondly, the HRC under Putin is now experiencing a difficult crisis, and for complete happiness there is not enough Alexander Brod. With his persistent reputation of an extended human rights activist. But this is a rarity: two good messages at once.
However, on that list of positively colored news ends. All other information and assumptions related to this plot are rather sad, if not tragic. The drama is based on a total mutual misunderstanding.
The former member of the Public Chamber, Alexander Brod, sincerely did not understand why he could not sit in the HRC. And it was not about voting on the Web, where he was secluded, not about Fedotov and not even about Lyudmila Alekseeva, to whom he complained to Barack Obama in his thundering letter. The question stood much more fundamentally: in vain, or something, Alexander Semenovich spent the best years of his life on the fight against fascism, Eduard Limonov and Sergey Kovalev - and all to ensure that some intriguers deprive him of the right to do what love?
Therefore, he appealed not only to Obama, but also to Putin, hoping that the president is not indifferent, who would sit in his council. Alas, both were silent, as they conspired: both the Russian national leader and the American. They answered him, except for mockery bloggers, only opponents. Good Mikhail Aleksandrovich, expressing bewilderment, at the same time wished for a ferment of a speedy recovery. The harsh Lyudmila Mikhailovna called him a tantrum and exposed him in an unworthy game.
The sadder was that Vladimir Putin, apparently, rarely reflected on the fate of Alexander Brod these days. And he did not comprehend why he would think on this subject. It was even the impression that the director of the mysterious Moscow Bureau of Human Rights today is generally no one of the bosses: neither Putin, nor Surkov, nor Volodin. That it, roughly speaking, the mission has been fulfilled, and new times are coming into which it will not fit. That is, new times are coming personally for him. And so everything remains as before.
As you might guess, the scandals that shook the Presidential Council in recent months were unpleasant not only to Fedotov. The Kremlin also frowned, observing the mass exodus from the HRC of famous people, for imitation democracy differs from the usual, fraught with chaos, which it maintains an imitation order. When Fedotov and his colleagues appeal to the rule of years, they write laws themselves and submit to Putin-Medvedev lists with dozens of names of the political zones, and receive at the exit laws on slander, fines, etc. And one liberated Mokhnatkin on the whole list is normal from the point of view of the authorities. When there is a danger that the council will remain almost exclusively gentlemen like Broda, the presidential administration thinks that they do not even need such advice.
And then there is a basis for some shaky new agreements. Mikhail Aleksandrovich probably insists that at least externally the list looks decently as possible. In the Kremlin, grinning about the word "decency", languidly agree to get rid of someone completely odious and endlessly loyal. Then a vote occurs. As a result, the ford is starving and writing letters, but on the sixth day he stops his action, giving food to analysts and enriching the news feed with good news.
It is sad only to those who have already lost the hope that the HRC during GDP after the rotation will become a real meeting of citizens whose opinion will be listened to the Kremlin. For something tells them to the thousands of our compatriots that the screen is a screen and there is a width, and the dilapidated old deeds, and the fresh sentences of Pussy Riot and Taisisi Osipova convince this much stronger than a continuous positive in history with Alexander Brod. And the processes in the case of Bolotnaya are coming, and this news can completely cross out our common joy about the fact that Alexander Semenovich is alive and ready to sue, protesting against injustice. That is, continues the struggle for human rights.
