The animator Fedor Khitruk died

In Moscow, in the 96th year of his life, an outstanding Russian multiplier Fedor Khitruk died. It is reported by RIA "Novosti". Since 1938, he began working at the Soyuzmultfilm film studio as an artist-multiplier. He is the author of everyone beloved by all animated films "Film, Film, Film", "Toptyzhka", "Vacations of Boniface", "Winnie the Pooh", "Island", "Leo and Bull". In total, his filmography has 102 ribbons.

At Soyuzmultfilm, he worked for more than fifty years, with a break for war. Since 1962 he became a director. His first film "The History of one Crime" was a great success. The film is considered the beginning of a new style in Soviet animation, different from the canon of the 1950s, similar to Disney. Khitruk is the author of many articles, books, textbooks.

In 1993, the Khitruk year and three other leading animators - Yuri Norshtein, Andrei Khrzhanovsky, and Eduard Nazarov - founded a cartoon studio "Shar".

Khitruk - People's Artist of the USSR (1985), laureate of state prizes of the USSR (1976, 1982), State Prize of the GDR for Art (1972), President of Russia in the field of literature and art. He was awarded the orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1971), the Patriotic War of the II degree (1988), "For Merit to the Fatherland" III degree (1998). In 2002, he received a special prize of the President of Russia "for an outstanding contribution to the development of Russian cinema" for 2001. In 2007, at the first ceremony of “Nicky”, he was awarded the prize ”for an outstanding contribution to Russian cinema.”
