
In Moscow, at the age of 88, film director George Danelia died. It is reported by "New Gazeta".
The director was sick for a long time. In February, he fell into intensive care with pneumonia. He was introduced for some time into the medication.
Danelia was born on August 25, 1930 in Tiflis, but already in 1931 his family moved to Moscow. In 1955 he graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute, and in 1959-the highest directorial courses. Since the same 1959 he worked at Mosfilm.
Among the paintings of Danelia - "I am walking around Moscow" (1963), "Do not grieve!" (1968), "Afonya" (1975), "Mimino" (1977), "Autumn Marathon" (1979), "Kin-dza-dza!" (1986). The director became famous primarily as a master of comedy and tragicomedic genres. Many of his films became the leaders of the Soviet rental.
He was the author or co -authors of scripts for both part of his films and the paintings of other directors, in particular, to the "gentlemen of good luck" by Alexander Sery (1971).
In the 2000-2010s, Danelia signed open letters in defense of the defendant of the Yukos case Svetlana Bakhmina, for perpetuating the memory of the victims of the Stalinist repressions, against the dismissal of the director of the Moscow Museum of the Kinum Naum Kleiman. The Russian aggression of 2008 against Georgia commented on the phrase "I am sorry that I lived to this day." In 2014, the director abstained from assessing aggression against Ukraine, referring to the inconsistency of information in various sources. At the same time, he wished Ukraine peace and tranquility.
