The historian Vladimir Gerasimov died

In St. Petersburg at the age of 80, historian, local historian, guide Vladimir Gerasimov died.

Vladimir Vasilievich Gerasimov was born in 1935 in the Vologda Oblast, during the blockade he lived in Leningrad, and studied at the philological faculty of the University of Lengers after the war.

For many years, Vladimir Gerasimov drove excursions in Leningrad and the Pushkin reserve. Among his close friends were Joseph Brodsky, Lev Losev, Sergey Dovlatov, Vladimir Ufland. In recent years, he taught at the gymnasium the history of St. Petersburg.

“Gerasimov was a parable in St. Petersburg tongues - not just a walking encyclopedia (which is not so few), but exclusively refined in his oral stories. - recalls the observer of Radio Liberty Ivan Tolstoy. “He was a guide all his life, just some segments of life were reflected in the accounting department and work book, but they could not have reflected, he told everyone who wanted to listen to him.”
