Two paths to wall

20 years ago, a mathematician and national conservator Igor Shafarevich published in the journal New World the article “Two Roads-to one Cliff”, later converted into the book. The article interpreted both ideology competing in the then world - socialism and liberal progressism - as two tragic dead ends, two scenarios, each of which inevitably bring to humanity collapse.

I thought about this option of double danger, forced to reflect on the unbridled apology of the Covenant Stalin and Hitler of the last weeks*, and then the restoration of the name of the Kremlin highlander at the Kurskaya - Koltsevaya station. The latter was a demonstrative crossing out not just a perestroika criticism of Stalinism, but even the decisions of the XX Congress of the CPSU.

Why the special service elite and its ideological servant revere and justify Stalinist imperialism, in general, I understand. For obvious reasons, they do not want “internal” Stalinism, but they want “external” - impudent and total imperialism. They cannot imitate royal imperialism (there are not enough subtleties), Stalin remains. And not even the sophisticated Stalinist expansionism of the times of the grandiose commentary game in anti -fascism or virtuoso post -war “struggle for peace”. No, they give them dull brutality of the 39-40s. Give, give us Hitler (the surnames of totalitarian leaders are written here from the lowercase letters, because in this case they denote phenomena, not personalities), and we will share “crying Europe” with him or, continuing the same patriotic hit, a beautiful ass ... did not give. South Ossetia is a bad replacement of the Suddrats (like sand - replacing the oats in the "leader of the red -skinned" O. Henry). In this capacity, Stalin becomes like a deputy of Hitler. Such a velvet-bargate Hitler is without genocide and pogroms. But with the freedom of a small private merchant, encouragement of childbearing and a dream of autobahns ...

To understand the intricacies why one people for the most part (and the peoples civilizationally assimilated with them) ** nostalgia in Stalin is as disgusting as to conduct psychoanalysis of the pedophile maniac. But you need.

We can distinguish two reasons for the folk apology of Stalinism:

1. Older ones have a crystal dream of reprisals with response workers, thicknesses, foreigners and intellectuals, in the spirit of the program of the unforgettable captain of the state security of Milyaga (from Chonkin), remember: “I, I,” the captain willingly confirmed. “Und Communist, Und is non-partisen all the execution, Paf-Paf,” depicting pistol firing, the captain waved his right hand. Then he wanted to inform the interrogating that he had extensive experience in struggle with the Communists and he, Captain Milyaga, could bring a certain benefit to the German institution, but did not know how to express such a complex thought. ”

2. The younger ones have almost erotic dreams of the “kids” foreign policy: to everyone - to show the wintering of crayfish, all to their knees, to throw a bomb on reptiles.

In any case, this is the desire for a grandiose and, possibly, the last historical catastrophe in the life of our unfortunate country - a mass terror or a full -fledged war.

The largest historical irony is that the realization of both folk dreams about Stalin is most threatened with the encouraging such mood of the elite. We note this again. The basis of popular Stalinism is the desire for an “opopikh” (anti -eelite) terror and the desire for an aggressive statement of great power.

But the past seven decades, two of which were occupied by the cultivation of bourgeois and ethnic nationalism, markedly corrected folk Stalinism. From the all -and -in -law of the country (evil spirits, werewolves, pests - the necessary to emphasize) repression went a sincere impulse to equality and bright future, from the imperial - ideological messianism. There was a dry sediment: cut, hit, Davi ....

And the more dominant and “spiritual” elites flirt with Stalinism (in the reality of cherishing dreams of velvet fascism ), the more broad masses are strengthened in its nostalgic Stalinism. Now a significant part of the population still carries the historical memory of Stalinism real and still perceives its Stalinism as a proven means to threaten the “sniffing authorities” by the sophisticated, and at the same time as a means to solve a bunch of psychotherapeutic problems, carefully avoiding maintaining non -stainless political projects. But soon the subconscious horror of despotism will be forgotten, and the NEXT generation-“fresh, like young radishes and unpretentious, like a rake”-will give a new historical chance to movements and leaders, reliably guaranteeing their fans, the massacre of smug elites and crackling and dable front-line reports. We saw a rehearsal: almost an animal satisfaction, twice - after the arrest of Khodorkovsky and after the invasion of Georgia - that covered the country, only the Zarnitsa of the “new beautiful future”.

I constantly have to write about the fatal myopia of the new domestic ruling elite, obviously sincerely believing that she was the most intelligent in history, came forever and will never repeat the mistakes of her unlucky predecessors. The current rulers did not complicate themselves with the question of why this was always, albeit very dosed in the training courses of the history of tsarist Russia, was there criticism of the oprichnina and biron, and in the Soviet post -Stalinsky - the condemnation of the cult of personality. Now the Russian elites are again ready to release Gin of terrorist despotism, which in this country prefers to respond to Joseph Vissarionovich.

But, in fact, 140 million people are still a lot. With such a demographic potential, one can risk another large terror and another (lost) large war. Moreover, with such a powerful millennium cultural tradition as Russia, people can survive a temporary loss-and their national independence and state unity (the Germans did not freeze after the 45th year and even greeted). But now the current Russian ruling elite has no historical chances with both versions of the triumph of the Stalinist foreign and domestic policy. What will remain after the purges and “point” bombing will be carefully uprooted-or by the People’s Avolutionary Government with its endless lists on lustration; or invaders; or (what they will accept for great happiness) by the administration of NATO peacekeepers with their dosed humanism and a thorough program of detouring. Examples of Husseinovsky Iraq and Miloshevichovskaya Serbia, a bitter fate of the former parties in power, Baas and the Serbian social party - may they be science. So I sincerely do not understand why the rulers of Russia, indulging in their political and gun complexes, so enthusiastically “collect the coals on their heads” (parables of Ch. 25: 21-22)?

*Putin, announcing at the last moment the pact “immoral”, also firmly framed his apologists as the Stalinist article “Dizziness from Success” (March 1930) set up zealous fighters for collectivization. However, they began to kill those, and fans of the section of Europe will not even spit under their feet.
