It was more or less clear that the Union of Right Forces, which tried almost for the first time in its entire history to reformat itself into a truly opposition party, would not be allowed to survive. But the Kremlin came up with a completely humiliating and shameful death for the right - to unite them with the puppet "Civil Force" and the DPR... Well, that is, before the mice... Barshchevsky and Bogdanov are wonderful characters... Moscow is a big city, and, probably, someone else gives a hand to these major democratic figures of our time. But still, they are hardly decent people. Do you remember how many angry and caustic remarks addressed to Mr. Barshchevsky we heard from the new leader of the Union of Right Forces, Mr. Gozman, at the time when, through the efforts of Vladislav Surkov, “Civil Power” was born. She appeared only to replace the Union of Right Forces on the political field of Russia... Well, never mind, if she endures it, she will fall in love. And now Mr. Gozman is heading the Kremlin project to dissolve the Union of Rightist Forces into more influential and popular democratic organizations. True, they say that neither Barshchevsky nor Bogdanov will be in the new party, only their faithful comrades-in-arms, but these are just rumors for now.
Meanwhile, Surkov is busy searching for a leader. Not an easy task, of course. A decent person with any reputation, of course, will not agree, and installing an unknown baller would ruin the project on the shore. And this is unacceptable - we must obtain funding for at least a year in advance. Some names and even top threes are already being heard (including the option of collegial leadership being considered). There are businessmen and journalists there, but I won’t name anyone yet. Just so as not to inadvertently offend an uninvolved person.
The answer to the question of why the Kremlin, after several years of complete indifference, suddenly began to fuss on the right flank, lies on the surface. It’s clear why - they were nervous about the united democratic movement being created. And, by the way, it’s good that we got nervous. I would like to believe that they will have more and more reasons to worry. And I don’t consider the destruction of the Union of Right Forces as a tragic event. So the time has come.
The fog cleared and there was complete clarity. Now we can safely say that there are no longer any independent political subjects left in the official political field of Russia. To one degree or another, everyone is controlled by puppets, which, of course, in fact are not any political parties. Scripts will be written for them in the Kremlin, they will participate in fake elections, fight, win victories, suffer failures, swear, run to the Kremlin, make scandals, intrigue, and even constructively criticize their puppeteers from time to time. But at the same time, they will not stop being dolls for a moment and will not fall off the strings. Here is a doll with left-wing views, and here - with right-wing ones... And Zhirinovsky flutters above them... They swear, shout at each other... It’s funny for the Kremlin, but the country doesn’t care... For now, it doesn’t matter.
Obviously, in this situation, the task of creating a real, and not a showcase, democratic party has become even more urgent... If we do not want to live behind a screen for the rest of our days and lick it from someone else’s palm.
Today there is a lot of talk about the uncompromising and courageous act of the former SPS leader Nikita Belykh, who did not agree to participate in this booth - he resigned as leader and left the party. I will not join this choir. For one simple reason. It seems to me that Nikita should be offended by this formulation of the question. It seems that the people praising him today doubted his integrity. In my opinion, this is what any decent person should have done. I have never had any doubt that Nikita Belykh is a decent person. Another thing, from purely technological considerations, it seems to me that he did not act entirely pragmatically. It seems to me that we should have stayed on the parapet, and not dive into the trench. That is, to create a universal scandal, to make a loud statement to regional leaders, to party patriarchs, to sympathetic cultural figures... They say, we don’t want to go to the Kremlin trash heap! It was possible to initiate protest events, collect signatures, etc. In other words, show less emotion and more political professionalism. Of course, in the end, Belykh would lose. But he would have lost cheerfully and usefully for the cause - they would have pulled out some regional right-wing organizations from under the Kremlin, and would have attracted several thousand more civil and political activists to their side. Perhaps it is not too late to do this today, but still, in the rank of leader of the party, it would be much easier to carry out its real split.
And finally, about Anatoly Borisovich Chubais... I don’t want to think that the shameful leak of the Union of Right Forces was the result of a trivial vulgar exchange - we give you the party, and you give us Rusnanotechnology. I don't want to think so... But I think so.
