Alexei Navalny has not yet become a presidential candidate, and it is not a fact that he would someday, but, without even being a candidate, he turned out to be the first announced for the nomination, whose program began to read carefully. Around the program, the main discussion spun - it seems that if all the actual inaccuracies and logical contradictions in time are opened in time, then the success in the elections will be ensured. Elections in this logic are something like the exam: you will not be registered without a well-written essay, and only one who will tell you about income tax will be able to enter the second round.

We dare to assume, however, that in the upcoming election campaign, if suddenly Navalny will take part in it, there will be only one fundamental question - and this is not a question about a one -time tax from the oligarchs or an increase in health care expenses.

Look. Almost any major event associated with Russia for different people (and in different parts of the world) now looks different. History with doping: for the conditional viewer of the BBC, it is evidence that Russia at the state level has created a system of pumping athletes forbidden drugs that violate all sports laws and conventions. But for the audience of the Russia-1 channel, it is obvious that the doping is accepted, we just turned out to be more cunning and effective, and the effectiveness is also manifested in the fact that we hid the ends into the water. But, it seems, for a huge part of ordinary citizens of the Euro -Atlantic world, and even more so for local journalists, in the last half a century this was completely no reason for pride - there is a government, special services and the military who do evil, and there are ordinary people who must be distanced from this evil and confront him as well. The peculiarity of Putin’s Russia is that a huge number of people living in it (and even more so journalists) agreed that this military-political evil is not at all evil, but a normal generally accepted practice and, moreover, a reason for pride.

If Alexei Navalny has a presidential campaign, then it will have to be said in the course of it, mostly not about income tax, but about all these stories. Doping, hackers, Aleppo, Crimea, Russian Orthodox Church, Stalin, 28 Panfilovs - and there is no doubt that for the remaining year, life will throw a dozen more no less intricate stories. And the question here is not to sanctify or convince someone, the presidential campaign is not the format to change deep value attitudes, people hear only what they are ready to hear, react to what is already sick. It is impossible to argue about Stalin with people who sincerely believe that the state is more efficient, the more it puts its own citizens into the coffin. It is extremely difficult to convince people who see confirmation of the greatness of the country in the bombing of foreign cities in the bombing of foreign cities. It is almost inconceivable to expose imperial complexes and geopolitical adventures to people for whom the state is the only hope and protection that largely live in the complicity in this military-political evil. And, probably, in the ideal world, it would be necessary to convince voters that the greatness is not only of the possibility of bombing, bribeing and outwitting, but in ideas, in projects, in a new lifestyle, that the whole world can see an example of how you want to live. But to formulate this “how you want” - much more difficult than answering a question about income tax.
