The anti -fascist rally on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow gathered about a thousand participants. Among them were representatives of various political forces - from Democrats to Communists. The reasons forced to get together are told by the participants in the action.
Alla Gerber , Chairman of the Holocaust Foundation:
This is a very important day for us. It is very important that we will say no fascism “no”, and not just hysterical “no”, but “no” convinced, “no” worthy, “no” respectful towards all nations, for all the nations living here, with respect for themselves and to all who are able to think, is able to compass and create. We are with those who do not destroy, but creates.
Ilya Ponomarev , Communist Party:
The Communist Party, in principle, tries to observe the distance, since for us the holiday is November 7th. We will distance themselves from the events of November 4, because some speculate on the "Russian idea", others speculate on those speculators that speculate on the "Russian idea" ... In general, this is a purely Piarov moment.
Undoubtedly, the Kremlin is trying to use the radicalization of society in order to provoke a clash inside a society and play the role of an arbiter. Unfortunately, all these rallies are free or involuntarily obtained part of this game. But we are not going to give the street to the nationalists.
Mikhail Schneider , Secretary of the Coordinating Council of the Russian Anti -Fascist Front:
The purpose of the rally is to declare to the authorities that we are against fascism. First, we applied for a rally, but an anti -fascist march. Unfortunately, the authorities did not allow the march, so we were forced to limit ourselves to a rally. We did not hope that as many people would come as we stated, since the rally is a less active genre compared to the demonstration. Then there was information that the Nazis would come, so we were afraid that people could be frightened and not come.
Nevertheless, about the rally came to the rally as we expected. We are glad that Muscovites came to our rally.
Alexey Sakhnin , activist of the Left Front:
The authorities, without understanding it, made a great gift to all the progressive forces of our country. She introduced a holiday, which rejoiced only with brown, which acquired a distinctly brown hue and will forever go down in history as a celebration of brown. Power shares this holiday only with the Nazis.
There is some attempt to create an opposition from liberal and leftist forces and to contrast them with both the authorities and brown. This attempt is doomed to defeat and absolutely shame in advance, because the liberals perceive themselves as a status elite, albeit opposition, they consider us exclusively as a crowd and consider it possible to violate agreements once from time to time. Therefore, this cannot be interpreted in any other way, except to shimmer into the decision from all left -wing forces once and for all to abandon all attempts by the alliance with liberals, from all attempts to participate in some events with them.
Today we would have to leave them to deal with real National Socialists who promised to come to this action, to find out deep questions. All progressive forces and all people in our country should see that all scum and all Shiz are hanging out in the same place. And liberals with the Nazis celebrate a new holiday. Our holiday will come the seventh, when we all leave and take a walk.
