The Russian businessman Victor Boot was called to the Thai criminal court on February 16. According to RIA Novosti, this was stated by lawyer Buta Chamren Phanynophakacon.
“Having learned from Viktor Buta, I went to the court, I went to the court. I was informed that my client was summoned to court by 09.00 on February 16, but they didn’t explain why,” the defender explained.
“At the time I received information, the main services of the court have already completed the work,” the lawyer said.
He suggested that Buta could be called either to receive additional information on the Russian extraction case in the United States, or to read the sentence of the Court of Appeal in the same case.
The United States considers Buta the largest underground weapon and is accused of conspiracy to kill US citizens, conspiracy to kill American military, providing material assistance to a well -known terrorist organization and illegal trading funds for air defense systems. The Russian denies all the accusations and states that in the past he was engaged in a completely legal business in the field of international air transportation, and since 2001 he has not been engaged in any international business at all.
The businessman was detained in March last year in Thailand, where he arrived as a tourist.
