The plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Kvashnin was hospitalized with suspicion of serious kidney disease. As RIA Novosti reports, two sources in medical circles reported this at once.
"Some time ago, Anatoly Kvashnin underwent an examination, according to the results of which a decision was made on hospitalization," said one of the interlocutors of the agency. He refused to clarify the date of hospitalization, as well as how serious the problems of the envoy to health were.
The press secretary of the envoy Lyubov Schalnev, responding to a request to confirm information about Kvashnin’s hospitalization, said that the envoy is “engaged in its health”. A source in the Khakassia administration, where the inauguration of the new governor Viktor Zimin, on which the envoy was to be present, confirmed that Kvashnin was absent at the ceremony.
Army General Kvashnin was appointed plenipotentiary of the President in the Siberian Federal District in September 2004. Before that, his career was associated with the army. He went from the chief of staff - deputy commander of the tank regiment - to the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense.
