Gordon-Levitt will play Snowden

Two-time nominee for the Golden Globe Award American actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt agreed to play the role of the exposure of the special services of Edward Snowden in the film Oliver Stone.

According to Variety , negotiations with the actor have not yet begun, but the agreement with him has actually reached.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (b. 1981) is considered one of the most diverse Hollywood actors, he is organic in a militant, in comedy, and in drama. Recently, Gordon-Levitt finished work on the film by Robert Zemeckis, The Walk, in which he played the role of the Kanatoma Philippe Petit, who made a sensational transition between the towers of the World Commercial Center in New York in 1974.

Oliver Stone will not only be the director of the film about Edward Snowden, but also write to him the script based on the novel by Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucheren “Octoen Time”, and will also become one of the producers. If negotiations with the leading role are completed successfully, the production of the picture will begin at the end of 2014 or at the beginning of the first quarter of 2015.

Former CIA employee and US National Security Agency Edward Snowden in the summer of 2013 handed over to The Guardian and The Washington Post to secret information about the total surveillance of American intelligence services for citizens of many countries.

After that, Snowden first fled to Hong Kong, and then to Russia, where he was given a temporary shelter. In the United States, Snowden was charged in absentia of espionage and abduction of state property, he was put on an international wanted list.
