Bezymyanny volcano erupted in Kamchatka, RIA Novosti reports. According to the Kamchatka Experimental and Methodological Seismological Party, powerful tremors began at 8:30 local time (23:30 Moscow time on Friday). Columns of ash and gas 8-10 kilometers high rose above the crater. The Alaska Volcano Observatory provided satellite imagery that clearly shows an ash plume stretching to the southeast. These releases can pose a risk to aircraft, as well as tourists, fishermen and hunters in the disaster area. For the settlements of the peninsula, the eruption does not pose a danger.
