The Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Cyril again turned out to be the main newsmaker of the day. Opening on Thursday in Kiev a meeting of the Holy Sinod of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Primate said the following:

I would like to say about a very important information that came to us from New York and which is associated with the circumstances of the death of the royal family. I believe that these circumstances will help us determine our position, including in the case of the so -called "Yekaterinburg remains." I will present you the appropriate materials, we will have to discuss this and make the necessary decision.

These words were instantly interpreted in the sense that the Russian Orthodox Church was ready to recognize these remains as genuine. But this does not follow from the text uttered by the Patriarch.

The director of the Office of the Romanov House Alexander Zakatov hastened to respond to the sensational promise of Cyril, who explained that we were talking about material evidence collected at one time by investigator Sokolov, who investigated the circumstances of the death of the royal family by order of Kolchak. According to Zakatov, they were recently discovered during the restoration of the Orthodox Church in Brussels and are samples of soil containing "some genetic material for new research."

It is quite obvious that the patriarch and sunsets speak of different things. The Patriarch is not going to conduct genetic studies. He has already drawn conclusions about the significance of newly reciprocated materials. And they were received not from Brussels, but from New York. It remains to guess what kind of materials are. Investigator Vladimir Solovyov (he conducted a criminal case of the execution of the royal family since 1993 and closed it in January of the past) has already expressed a desire to get acquainted with them, while expressing the conviction that these materials can only confirm the conclusions of the investigation of the remains.

The position of the so -called Romanov House is amazing. Its representatives have long achieved the absurd rehabilitation of Nicholas II and his family members, that is, their recognition as innocent before the law of the lawless state. And in the end they achieved . Then they started a lawsuit with the Investigative Committee, demanding to cancel the decision on the termination of the criminal case on the "Yekaterinburg remains."

The case was resumed three times, every time with the same result. Mr. Sunses stubbornly insisted that an additional "historical and medical-genetic" study was needed. He was extremely worried about the undergravated fate of the cook Sednev, as if able to influence the final conclusions of the investigation.

In the polemic of representatives of the house with investigator Solovyov there was a lot of journalism. The lawyer of the plaintiff German Lukyanov was indignant : in the decision of the Supreme Court on rehabilitation, “black and white says that Nikolai Romanov and his family members were shot on behalf of the state, and Solovyov ceases this criminal case in connection with the expiration of the limitation of the deliberate murder and death of the private individuals who committed him. As if it was about the usual criminal!” Soloviev replied that “on behalf of the state” was shot by the former emperor, but not members of his family, “therefore the investigation believes that N.A. Romanov was repressed and executed, and his family and servants were killed by criminals.” As for the special rights of Romanova M.V. On the representation of the interests of the royal family, Solovyov did not recognize these rights for her and asked the court to refuse to satisfy the claims. The court agreed with his arguments.

Now, however, Mr. Sunses states that the Romanovs house will rely the remains genuine if it does the Russian Orthodox Church. But the church is not a research and expert institution. She does not conduct and cannot conduct an independent study of material evidence. “The authenticity of the Yekaterinburg remains is not within the competence of the Church,” Metropolitan Juvenal, the chairman of the Synodal Canonization Commission on canonization.

The Russian Orthodox Church only considers it a premature conclusion about the authenticity of the relics and waits for the experts to remove all doubts. At the same time, the head of the department of external church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion, in June 2010, made a prayer at the Cross established in the male monastery in the name of the Holy Royal Martyrs on Ganina Yama, that is, in the very place from the "Yekaterinburg remains".

Today, the issue of belonging to the remains of geneticists is closed, their authenticity is irrefutably established . But Mr. Zakatov does not suit this result. “Science is constantly developing,” he says . “Those methods that are now recognized as modern and perfect, after a while, may well be declared outdated and insufficient. So it is wrong to reduce the whole question to genetic examination.” Based on this logic, the remains will never be identified.

Apparently, this is precisely what the Romanov House is required. If the matter is finally closed, it will lose the meaning of its existence, the reason to constantly remind of himself. In general, it seems that the theme of the tsarist remains once again serves as the fact that in political technologies is called Decoy - a way to distract public attention from other sharp plots.
