Russian Ambassador to Egypt Nikolai Kartuzov died in Moscow on Wednesday at the age of 62, according to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Kartuzov graduated from MGIMO in 1968, in 1994-1999 he was the Russian ambassador to Baghdad, and since 2002 - the ambassador to Cairo. "His activity has always been distinguished by high professionalism, devotion to the assigned task, composure, combined with a responsive attitude towards his work colleagues," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
