Under Rostov-on-Don, riot police detained all participants in the "Tractor Marsh", reported journalist Arseny Vesnin. At least 40 people were taken away on police buses.
“OMON was surrounded by the participants of the tractor march for Moscow after a meeting with the local authorities on Rostov. They were delayed without violence, but all,” Vesnin wrote.
According to the BBC, before that, the march participants, as well as a group of journalists who illuminated the run, were blocked by the police at the site of tractor drivers near Rostov, in the Dilizhans hotel. The police regarded what was happening as an illegal rally, announced the inadmissibility of the "Tractor Marsh" and invited all farmers to leave the hotel territory, where they spent the last day.
In addition, the police detained the participant of the Tractor Marshal Lyudmila Kushnarev and her associates, who returned to Rostov after a meeting with the governor of the Krasnodar Territory Benjamin Kondratyev, reports Yuga.ru. Kushnarev refused to talk about her visit to Krasnodar and a meeting with the governor. "Yes, I was at this meeting, but I do not want to talk about it," Kushnareva said. After that, the connection with her was interrupted.
On August 21, the "Tractor March" started from the village of Kazan Caucasus District of the Kuban after a rally of farmers, to which truckers from St. Petersburg, Rostov and Saratov joined. The column was compiled by 17 tractors and several dozen cars. It was reported that farmers from other regions will join the protesters.
The declared goal of the action is to meet with Vladimir Putin and tell him about raider seizures, corruption and deceit of rural residents by the authorities.
It was decided to go to Moscow after the farmers were not allowed to meet with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during his visit to the Kuban. Then the rural residents arranged on the highway, on which Medvedev was supposed to pass, a picket with posters "gang - gate!" And "return our land." The farmers were detained and not released from the police until the prime minister left the region.
Only during the evening of Sunday, the participants of the "Tractor Marsh" stopped the traffic police seven times under far -fetched pretexts, and the same police officers did it every time.
On Monday, the farmers were negotiating with the authorities. Officials of different levels tried to convince tractors' drivers to abandon the trip plans to Moscow and return to Krasnodar to resolve their problems with local authorities.
On Tuesday, one of the organizers of the action Alexei Volchenko said that farmerswould continue the "Tractor march" to Moscow . According to him, the member of the march was invited to Governor Kondratyev to come to the meeting, but he refused. "We will not go to Krasnodar. Now we are near Rostov, in the hotel, the police blocked the tractors. They do not explain this, they did not show us any documents," Volchenko said.
According to him, farmers turned to the acting prosecutor of the Aksaysky district and assistant to the authorized representative of the president in the Southern Federal District, but did not receive an explanation of why the equipment was blocked.
